I like the smooth satin finish and it's going to get hardly any wear hiding inside the backbox.

Had to get some longer screws to fit this onto the shelf. There's not usually a gap between the frontplate and the backbox.

I don't know how much refinishing is appropriate on an old machine. I want to bring it back to life but not destroy it. I am going to have to paint the front of the backbox at least to make it presentable.

This is the part that usually gets the worst of the battery corrosion damage but because my backbox had been stored on its side it came off fairly lightly and was working just fine.

 

TP2 clearly labelled for input of 12VDC during bench testing!

Delamination on the backbox. I'm constantly asking myself how much to fix and how much is part of the character of an old machine and should be left alone, but I think I'm going to have to patch this.
