"I never cared:

- I never cared if you were “gay“ until you started shoving it in my face, and the faces of our children.

- I never cared what colour you were, until you started blaming my race for your problems.

- I never cared about your political affiliation until you started to condemn me for mine.

- I never cared where you were born until you wanted to erase my history and blame my ancestors for your current problems.

- I never cared if you were well-off or poor, until you said you were discriminated against, when I was promoted because I worked harder.

- I never cared if your beliefs were different from mine, until you said my beliefs were wrong.

Now I care !

My patience and tolerance are gone.

I’m not alone in feeling this way there are millions of us who do......

and we have had enough !"

▶ "Sisyrinchium angustifolium —commonly known as narrow-leaf blue-eyed-grass— is a herbaceous perennial, native to the eastern United States, found in moist meadows, open woodlands, low woods, and shorelines.

The plant (including a long stalk) is 6 to 20 inches in height (15–50 cm). The single flower consists of six blue tepals (a type of petal), ¼ to ⅜ inches long ( 7–10 mm), each tipped with a sharp point, veined, and darkening toward central yellow patch."

Wikipedia.

▶ "Sisyrinchium is a large genus of annual to perennial flowering plants in the family Iridaceae, native to the Americas. The species is known as blue-eyed grasses and, though not true grasses —and with some varieties blooming with colors other than blue— most of the species have the general appearance of grasses: low-growing plants with long, thin leaves. And many Sisyrinchium species resemble irises, to which they are more closely related."

Wikipedia.

▶ This is a closeup. The flowers appear much larger in the image than they did in 'real' life.

An adventurous, but critically endangered Bali Myna (Leucopsar rothschildi) found its freedom! It was spotted at a car park between blk 33 and 34, Telok Blangah Way.

Note: The Bali Myna is critically endangered and the wild population has been close to extinction since at least 1994. As of 2015, less than 100 adults are assumed to exist in the wild and only about 1,000 believed to survive in captivity around the world.

The Bali Myna which I have took pics of, is believe to be someone’s pet which has escaped.

Found some props that seemed to fit the theme of spider. At least I had some spiders!!

Then decided it looked a bit bland, so added some textures using LunaPics which has no doubt wiped my EXIF details and I can't find a way of putting them back on, before uploading.

2023 Photo 353/12 Found in a nearby neighborhood. So, what makes a tastefully decorated house? First, in my view, is no inflatables and no projectors. Then, well-balanced and arranged lighting. And few, if any, prefab decorations (except for artificial wreaths, which are acceptable as accepts). Also, attemtions to detail, and smaller deciduous trees draped with lights (or palms wrapped with lights in warmer climates). Finally, illumination of upper levels. And a minimum of blinking. This one fits the bill pretty well. ©2023 | John M. Hudson

CHESTNUT-MANDIBLED TOUCAN Ramphastos swainsonii. This calling Chestnut-mandibled Toucan is perching in this tree along the Vía Cunuco about one and one half miles northwest of Mindo in northwestern Ecuador at 9:06 AM on August 25, 2021.

This is the same toucan as seen flying in the previous photo taken 10 seconds earlier.

The Chestnut-mandibled Toucan (found in western Ecuador) belongs to the family Ramphastidae and is often treated as a subspecies of the Black-mandibled Toucan Ramphastos ambiguus swainsoni (found east of the Andes in Ecuador) .

Found in a Western Civ textbook from undergrad days: In the fall of 1978 I was still working as the night telegraph editor -- Isn't that a great job title? -- at the then-Johnson City (Tenn.) Press-Chronicle. One of my duties was to monitor the news that came in from the Associated from around the world and decide which items got in the newspaper. I guess I kept the clip because we didn't get "bulletins" much from the AP. They were reserved for assassinations, wars breaking out, the sudden and unanticipated death of a pope, or the sudden and unanticipated death of Elvis. (which was the year before). A bell would start dinging madly on the teletype and the Pavlovian response was to start salivating with journalistic excitement as you ran to the wire room to check the machine. The tag at the end says this came in at 1:39 a.m. I'm trying to figure out why I was at the office so late. The paper had long been "put to bed," so this news had to wait for the afternoon edition.

Keeping with my posting some of my Trucks on Thursday:

Found in small town Iowa - not even sure if the place behind is still in business - the N in the name was faded - but it was certainly a great set-up for this old blue truck parked outside. I guess they fixed tractors and small engines and the tow truck is used for hauling that equipment.
