A notable migrant which reaches far into Northern Europe during favourable years. In about 5% of the population the female takes a pale form, f. helice, which can be confused with Berger's clouded yellow, Colias alfacariensis and the Pale clouded yellow, Colias hyale.

Photographed in the area Piatra Craiului, Brasov, Ro. Piatra Craiului is river located along the Barsa where one of my favorite walking places near Brasov.

This fairly large (ca.12cm) stick insect was inside a glass cylinder . Hence the white flecks & light reflections. Taken at the Butterfly World nr.St Albans ,Herts.

This is a feature where you walk through a stream of mist. On a hot day it is very sweet and refreshing. There is a large butterfly resting on the sidewalk in the shade, and it did not move until a person came walking through.
