Having swapped cars with the CN at Lenzburg, this Kaskaskia River Railroad train returns to KRPD Dock 1 with a long string of loaded gypsum gondolas and empty limestone hoppers. The railroad and port were originally part of Peabody Coal Company's mining operations, but now almost exclusively handle materials moving to and from the Prairie State Energy Center a few miles away. I spoke with a crew member who indicated that business is booming, and the KRRC has barely enough manpower or resources to handle it. The obviously ex-UP GP15 is a recent arrival to help with the upswing in traffic.

Kansas City Southern's classy looking business train is sitting at CPKC's Knoche Yard in Kansas City Missouri waiting for a crew to take it south. The train based out of Shreveport Louisiana deadheaded north for some sort of corporate event that would take the train down to Amsterdam Missouri and back to Kansas City. Once back in KC the train would sit here all day waiting for a crew to take it back south to Shreveport.
With the merger between Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern who knows how long this train will look this way. with some cars in this train having already been repainted into a Canadian Pacific business train maroon color.

It had been 6 years since I was in Dubai last and I passed through again recently in February, on my way through to Norway. On a very still morning I revisited a location I shot the last time I was here and was surprised to be approached by security guards at such a quiet location.
I was informed that shooting with tripods was not allowed here. I politely explained I was shooting long exposure and was waiting for just the right light which was only minutes away and asked if it was at all possible they could grant me 10 more minutes. They were kind enough to give me that and it was the last shot I took 5 minutes later that gave me the light I had been waiting for. Thanks to the security for their understanding.
Union empty slabs are being shoved down into ET, while 8 crew works the valley yard, and a random 4 pack of units sits inside the receiving yard inside ET.
As we left there was another 4 pack of units tied down on the siding, where the crew had died on time.

This is my first attempt at a business card design :) I am looking at it now and not happy with the word placements. It all can be changed though. Nothing embossed here and the paper a semi-gloss.

About 3 years ago I asked a friend what lens I should buy as my first non-kit lens. He said a 30mm prime - and boy was he right. I've had so much fun with this little beauty over the last few years - everybody loves a bit of bokeh eh! This photo is from when I tried and failed to complete a 52 week project, I think I missed about 10 weeks in the end. Still like this particular shot mind.
Just a random pic of Business Bay Bridge.
