watching the supercross race in Toronto tonight and got the urge to look through a few of the...well hundreds I took at last Junes race at Budds Creek, MD. Got to go through them some day;)
Made the trek to Budds Creek MD last weekend and wow did they put on a show. It was broadcast on speed tv later that evening.

He got oh so close but just couldn't make the pass...finished second in final race.
What an awesome race, what an awesome place, a real spectator thriller. Every jump, every turn is just a few feet away and can be accessed so easily by a series of "tunnels" that double as jumps for the racers. A real fan friendly show piece! The Outdoor National Series comes to Budds Creek MD, every year on Fathers Day weekend. The series brings the best in the world for some amazing competition. The races are shown on Speed TV as well as Fuel TV and are usually re-played through out the week if you'd like to see them;) I'm sure I'll be posting some more as I get through them, thanks for looking, Ben.

Just a snapshot, but something I'm damned proud of. Six months ago, I hit my weight loss goals at the gym, so I needed a new goal. I'd never run any race before, let alone a mud run or obstacle course race. So my awesome trainer and I went through some physically and mentally intense training, and here is the payoff. I've never felt more alive, I've never had more fun, and I'm a little sad that it's over. But it's not really over, because SPARTAN RACE is coming up next.
These shoes are probably trashed, but know that there is absolutely NO BETTER WAY to trash a pair of shoes than with a mud run. Wrecked or not, I am keeping the shoes-- they're a testament to all the blood, sweat and pain I've endured to get to where I am now, as far away from my old unhealthy lifestyle as possible.
This isn't a finish line! It's only the first step!
I'm not sure how these guys have the guts to fly over and off the jumps before them. I guess they have been doing it almost as long as some of them have been walking;) Amazing guts, so cool to see it. Believe it or not there were only a very few crashes all day. One fellow did go down right on the down side of this jump but really just seemed to land in a small gully that tossed him over the bike. Apparently just a freak landing spot and he shook himself off and got right back up and took off! They are probably the best in the world.
