inquisitive Etta at the bubbles we found in a big puddle on the track of the South Lawson Fire Trail, two days in a row.
Intrigued to see if they are there again tomorrow.
Had fun with this one. Used a tiny tube from my husbands tool box. I wanted to do a frozen bubble but it was not quite cold enough.
At -1 degrees I went out to create ice bubbles. Some did freeze, but these would not. Thought they still looked pretty though.

Apparently they look like bubbles! A quick spin...well hardly quick and many spins, shot in a dark hole, one single exposure no editing involved
I was walking down Market Street today and a guy was throwing soap bubbles up into the air. I thought I would take a picture of one and just as I pressed the camera button, it burst!

Background is from my stock.
Gaudi Park - Barcelona. Picture of bubbles made by a childrens entertainer in Goudi park on a sunny day. I loves the way the light catches the water and also the way the picture capture the bubbles bursting
For Macro Mondays' "Bubbles" theme. This is a blue glass pitcher with lots of little bubbles in the glass. The out of focus blobs are highlights from the other side of the pitcher. Lighting is done mostly with an Ikea reading light coming in from the top. Background behind the pitcher was black board. The area covered is probably less than an inch across.
The sun's out today. Haven't seen the sun in ages. I loved just standing outside and absorbing the rays, but then got jumpy and had to blow some bubbles.
I love the dark background here. It's the shaded corner of the building (an old lunatic asylum). That little bubble inside is doing strange things to the larger reflection - see all the scattering flecks inside!
It's a sweet and sensual experience to blow a bubble inside a bubble. You just pucker your lips and pop a bit of air through the surface. Amazing that it's so simple. Amazing that it's even possible. It's fun too. If the bubble surface is too thin, it just pops. POP!
I'll be a bit cryptic here, but this technique has given me ideas for something very beautiful. I'll need help with it (not saying what yet!), but if I can get it to work it's going to be better than anything I've done with bubbles before........
SE Alaska, 8 Humpback whales bubble net feeding. After they dive you never know exactly where to point the camera despite them producing a bubble net, often they were much further away than expected on surfacing.
