The final NS 255 clatters over the IMRR Diamond at Shops, in the prairie state's capital city. With trailer issues preventing the train from making Valley City in light, this would be the last shot we were able to pull off of the 255, bringing the era of the roadrailer to an unceremonious end.
Something that you do to me fills me with unease.

If today is any indication of how 2024 will go, then bring it on!
This pretty girl was out prancing around. Haven't seen many rounds that danced.

For tomorrow I retire!!!! It's been a while in coming as it has been put off three times but finally I can say farewell to work and hurrah to the next chapter!!!
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan - Especially For You
Especially for you
I want to let you know what I was going through
All the time we were apart
I thought of you
You were in my heart
My love never changed
I still feel the same
Especially for you
I want to tell you I was feeling that way too
And if dreams were wings, you know
I would have flown to you
To be where you are
No matter how far
And now that I'm next to you
No more dreaming about tomorrow
Forget the loneliness and the sorrow
I've got to say
It's all because of you
And now we're back together, together
I want to show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you
Especially for you
I want to tell you, you mean all the world to me
How I'm certain that our love was meant to be
You changed my life
You showed me the way
And now that I'm next to you
I've waited long enough to find you
I want to put all the hurt behind you
Oh,
And I want to bring out all the love inside you
Oh
And now we're back together, together
I want to show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you
You were in my heart
My love never changed
And now we're back together, together
I want to show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you
Up in Virginia, it seemed that Southern's SD24s were always buried in the consist. On Dec. 6, 1975 I finally caught one in the lead, No. 6345, bringing a manifest into Asheville, NC. It would be the only shot that I ever got of one on the point.
At a second Osprey nest along the Concord Road in Kiamesha Lake, NY. The one near the old entrance to the hotel does not seem to be in use. This one is closer to the Kiamesha Lake Road.
The H05 crew brings an empty rail train past the Ames plant with the former Southern GP38-2 throwing back to it's roots running long hood forward as a summer downpour falls from the sky.

April showers bring May flowers...except these are really March flowers, courtesy of Longwood Gardens.
About this photo:
I took this photo in March at the Longwood Gardens conservatory
About the process:
Usual processing stuff for me: I increased the color and contrast using overlays and added a high pass filter for detail.

I'm not sure I ever had that much confidence myself, but anything's possible in a miniature world. :)
For this week's Macro Mondays group theme, Star. To give an idea of scale, the shoes are ½" long.
R.I.P. Hans, and thank you.
Note to Admins: Sorry, I accidentally deleted my image from the group, so I've had to reinstate it. I promise I didn't mean to! If you want me to remove it, though, please let me know. I will understand because it's entirely my fault.

Cold winters day walking the dog. I looked up with squinting eyes and had to get the camera out

It was a busy Monday; things kept piling up to the point I gave up on trying to keep up and went with just tackling things one at a time instead of looking at the whole list and getting overwhelmed.
Oh well; tomorrow's another day to keep working through the list.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Aan alles komt een eind: 5216 en een reeksgenoot brengen een sleep loks van de reeksen 59 en 76 naar Aubange om er verschroot te worden.
Everything comes to an end: 5216 and a classmate bring a train of locomotives of classes 59 and 76 to Aubange to be scrapped.
I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be
Useful gorse (Ulex europaeus) pollen loads on this honey bee.
Loads of bees on willow catkins today but there were also some like this one working the gorse. I watched some on coltsfoot flowers too but i couldnt get a picture - they were too fast ...or maybe I was too slow.
Good to see lots of pollen coming into the hives.
