The Coronado National Forest includes an area of about 1.78 million acres (7,200 km2) spread throughout mountain ranges in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.
The Nogales Ranger District comprises four mountain ranges north and west of Nogales, Arizona. These ranges are the Santa Rita, Tumacacori, Pajarito, and San Luis Mountains. Included in this area are Mount Hopkins, Mount Wrightson, and Madera Canyon, all located in the Santa Ritas. In the early 20th century this area included two national forests which were absorbed into Coronado: Santa Rita National Forest and Tumacacori National Forest.

I took this shot on the German-Austrian border, hence the title. We saw lots of blooming aconite up there, which according to Wikipedia sports a number of colourful names like wolf's bane, devil's helmet and queen of poisons. Despite these plants being extremely poisonous they grow in abundance on mountain pastures, so at least cows and sheep seem to know instinctively to avoid them. People aren't that smart... earlier this year a few people apparently poisoned themselves after the president of their country promoted aconite root as a treatment for COVID-19.

The text on the pedestrian bridge closes to the camera says Shiba Kōen 3 chōme (that is the district number 3 in the Shiba Kōen area, in the Minato-ward, Tokyo) and the pedestrian bridge further away says that area is Atago 2 chōme (Atago is another area in Minato). So this is taken right on the border between the two areas (hence the title).

Abstract:
Even more than 30 years after the reunification of Germany this borderless borderland still exists between the two former German states. The once strictly guarded border divided two opposite political views and economic systems and the world of every citizen on both sides ended there for decades. After the reunification this area became the geographical center of Germany and the two societies had to be merged, especially there. This unique history has formed the people as well as their environment since then into a special society. This work tries to compile a topography of this social landscape.

This is right off the roll. I don't know what happened to this but found it interesting. Maybe the film picked up what we can't see. Perhaps there are "zones" on this earth that we don't know about. Different realities that have borders with others.
This was from the middle of the roll, neither beginning nor end. Lazy shutter on one frame perhaps, but I'd be surprised because this K1000SE got a complete going over by an experienced 20th Century camera technician in Seoul just months before I took this shot.
Another aspect of this shot is the scarce appearance of colors in a full-color shot on Portra. Surely caused by the harsh light and shadows, but interesting to me nonetheless as the few colors appear in a serendipitous manner it would seem.
