I was milling around with a few other folks watching the activity at the river crossing late this afternoon. The action was pretty intense about now. There were horses in the trees behind me, bands of horses across the river, in the river, down the river. There was a lot going on and it was tough to decide what to focus on. Someone nearby said something like, "uh oh, trouble coming, look out behind you". I whirled around and pointed the camera, just in time to watch the chestnut body-slam and then kick at the gray. Geez.

Looking at the gray now, and the Righty gray in my post from yesterday, it's conceivable it's the same horse as this image is about 20 minutes before the gray pair posted yesterday. If that's so, then in the image from yesterday Lefty could be saying to Righty "Good job, you held your own against that rambunctious body-slammer." Furthermore, I'm elated I got any pics at all of this - straight into the setting sun practically. Lucky camera settings...

Following on the positive response to my Wave Warrior photos, my theme for today is a single body boarder. Quite often when I take shots of people in the surf, I will select a few good surfers and follow them as they ride the waves.

This young man was particularly good, here is a sequence of shots from when I saw him catch a wave, until it dropped him.

Time to visit Dr. Annie Dult at the morgue. The coroner was examining the body. Hiya Quistis, she said to detective Shippe when she came in, this is a pretty easy case. Cause of death…stab wounds. That for sure was obvious. Still the family wanted an autopsy….I guess they wanted to be sure she didn’t die of natural causes. Doc Dult rolled her eyes. I can’t tell much about the body, except that she was young, attractive and perfect for the restroom killer, she said. Oh, detective Shippe replied….why is that?

The Peugeot 404 is a large family car produced by French automobile manufacturer Peugeot from 1960 to 1975.

A truck body style variant was marketed until 1988.

Styled by Pininfarina, the 404 was offered initially as a saloon, estate, and pickup. A convertible was added in 1962, and a coupé in 1963. The 404 was fitted with a 1.6 litre petrol engine, with either a Solex carburetor or Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection or a 1.9 litre diesel engine available as options. Introduced at the Paris Motor Show as an option was the inclusion of a 3-speed ZF automatic transmission, similar to the unit already offered on certain BMW models, as an alternative to the standard column-mounted manual unit.

Popular as a taxicab, the 404 enjoyed a reputation for durability and value.

The 404 was manufactured under licence in various African countries until 1991 (in Kenya) and was manufactured in Argentina by Safrar/Sevel in El Palomar; in Québec, Canada at the St-Bruno-de-Montarville Sociéte de Montage Automobile (SoMA) Ltd. plant (1965–1968); in New Zealand by Campbell Industries; in Australia by Renault Australia Pty. Ltd.; and in Chile by Automotores Franco Chilena S.A. in Los Andes. Peugeot's French production run of 1,847,568 404s ended in 1975.

A total of 2,885,374 units had been produced worldwide at the end of production.

As the model was designed by Pininfarina, the bodyshell is very similarly styled to the one used in the 1959 Austin Westminster.
