This shot was taken using a 10-stop ND filter with an exposure time of approximately 4 minutes. It was taken with heavy light leak through the viewfinder giving an ominous glow to the capture.

It was captured during the day with a clear blue sky, and was edited with Lightroom and Photoshop using the Topaz Clarity filter, and a sepia gradient map.

Hug, means thought or soul. In Nordic folklore, the hug was also thought to be able to travel independently of the body. Particularly important was the "evil hug", as it was believed that certain people could influence and harm others through their thinking. Looks like the left most one is the youngest (by size) and it wants some hugging. So the other two obliged for quite a while.

These are small birds, around the size of Barn Swallows that prefer high perches. They are usually seen on wires or on bare branches on top of tall trees. They are resident and found near small water bodies but make some local movements in response to rain.

The birds are generally seen in flocks of 5-10 or more. They prefer to sit in a huddle and even sleep like that on tall perches like wires during nights.

I got lucky that we stopped next to an elevated uphill road while the ground was at lower level. The birds were sitting on these wires and hence provided a rare eye level view.

He successfully rode the wave for a few short seconds before the wave ran out, and he sank into the wave, rather than falling from his body board, head first into the surf.

Following on the positive response to my Wave Warrior photos, my theme for today is a single body boarder. Quite often when I take shots of people in the surf, I will select a few good surfers and follow them as they ride the waves.

This young man was particularly good, here is a sequence of shots from when I saw him catch a wave, until it dropped him.

In this shot, my bodyboarding subject is preparing to stand up and ride the wave on his body board.
