MS: Peony 'Lemon Chiffon' is a hardy, herbaceous perennial bred by the American hybridizer Reath. It features semi-double, pale yellow flowers with bright yellow stamens. The plant grows in a bushy mound, reaching about 28 inches in height and 24-36 inches in spread. It thrives in full sun or partial shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Blooming in late spring to early summer for about 7-10 days, its foliage remains attractive through summer and often changes color in the fall. This peony is resistant to deer and rabbits but may require staking due to the weight of its flowers

Peony 'President Roosevelt' 24W21 6yo Lactiflora T2 (Warnaar, 1905) (3-DB-RD) Lactiflora Cultivar Peony, 36in.@ Maturity, RD Dark Red, Medium height, double, raspberry red petals, fragrant, midseason bloomer, Hardy to Zone 3-8, Garden T2 (SRC Wild) PLTD 2018.

Warnaar is from the Netherlands and only has one peony registered with the American Peony Society. Hollingsworth Peonies lists this peony as a Franklin introduction, however they appear to be referring to Peony 'President Franklin D. Roosevelt'. I believe 'President Roosevelt' was named after Teddy.

American Peony Society: APS rating 7.7. A desirable red Peony that originated in England but was introduced from Holland. The flower is medium size, globular, semi-rose type, with compact petalage and with stamens irregularly scattered throughout the flower. The color is a distinct shade of brilliant dark red, different from any other red Peony we know. A medium tall, erect plant with slender but stiff stems. Mid-season.

Paeonia 'Bowl of Beauty' (Hoogendoorn, Netherlands, 1949) is a 32” pink lactiflora cultivar. A Japanese type bloom, very fragrant, midseason. Guard petals are fuchsine rose, staminodes are pale lemon yellow (creamy). Sometimes rose petals are mixed in with the staminoides. Flowers can reach up to 12" in diameter. Hoogendoom registered a total of 7 peony cultivars, all in 1949.

2020 note: Fairly certain this is not Bowl of Beauty. Reviewed Michigan Bulbs peony list and did not see any peony that looks like this. Is one of a few peonies that displayed mildew in 2020. Not true to name.
