Named after the famed 1930s Street Hotel club in the Historic 18th & Vine
Jazz District, the Blue Room simultaneously honors the past and
showcases the present names in jazz. A multifaceted exhibit highlighting
the countless musicians who crafted the ‘Kansas City sound,’ a sound
known all over the world, the Blue Room also provides a distinctive
platform to present dynamic performances from the best local and
national jazz talent in an intimate setting. - American Jazz Musuem
The 18th and Vine area is most notable for it's Jazz scene and the Negro League's Baseball Museum. Charlie Parker and Count Basie are the most notable musicians to get their start and play in this area. This club is a working museum in the day and a live nightclub in the evening stil hosting major headliners in Jazz.

Another shot from and another blue room in Kohlmanskop (the abandoned Namibian diamond mining town). The door in this scene never blocks your way, but does hide what is behind it. Note too the fox footprints in the sand. 20230617KohlmanskopTest13v2
Beelitz Heilstätten was a lung sanatoriums, built between 1898 and 1930 by the Berlin State Insurance Institution. It is one of the largest hospital complexes in the Berlin area and consists of an ensemble of 60 buildings on a total area of approximately 200 ha.
This image is from the house C of the sanatorium for men and is located south of the railroad station. Unfortunately, all buildings are nearly empty meanwhile.
Long title:
A blue room where no person is visible at the moment because the person who was in the blue room has left the blue room 3 seconds ago.
Finally, so I could take the picture.
First Class Hotels remodeled the 504-room 135-suite luxury hotel as part of Hilton's Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts line. On reopening of the hotel in 2009, the owners reverted the name of the hotel to the "Roosevelt" title it had held from 1923 to 1965.

but it was you who
let it all into my heart
and it was you who
once again quickened my spirit
but it was you who was always
there for me
and it was you who never judged

I lived in Hong Kong 12 years, leaving in the summer of 2014. I knew it was time to go. I was worried that if I didn’t leave soon I would become a permanent fixture like so many of friends
before me - come for a year, stay for a lifetime. Not a bad prospect, to be sure! The lifestyle is the best I’ve ever known and, as a teacher, the respect and salary reflected the tremendous efforts of those in the profession. As a flight hub, Hong Kong affords some of the best travel opportunities in Asia and the nightlife is to be enjoyed regardless of age. I met my husband in Hong Kong and did a significant portion of 'growing up' there, and for this I will be forever grateful. However, the pollution had increased over the years that I was there, as had Beijing’s hold on democratic process in the region; both became reasons why I didn’t want to raise children there.
Given to me as a ‘thank you’ present from a friend, the teapot is a sweet reminder of the Hong Kong life I left behind.
Judging by all the footprints in the sand leading into this room... this is probably one of the most photographed doorways in Kolmanskop.
The available space and compositions are very limited here... but I didn't want to shoot it in the same way that everyone else does... which is ultra-wide with the doorway positioned on either the left or right hand side of the frame. I decided to move a bit closer... and to shoot it dead-center... as a double-image Vertorama.

More than 150 pounds of gingerbread dough is made and this year the recipe called for White House Honey! After baking the gingerbread, it is cut into pieces that become the house’s foundation. The gingerbread is so thick that a band-saw is used to create the bricks for the gingerbread replica. More than 250 lbs of white chocolate is then used for everything from the adhesive to the decorative elements. The white chocolate provides the flexibility needed to create details like the rosettes and the banisters, the windows and the wreaths.
