NINA is an abbreviation of Niederflur Nahverkehrszug, low floor commuter train.
On a sultry afternoon at Spiez, BLS 465 018 has just shunted a single Swiss Post Office wagon into the platform, presumably to be loaded for a later departure.
BLS operate the regional push-pull services that link Bern to Luzern and it is at the latter station that 465006 is seen arriving with RE3327 from Bern.

Hinter den beiden roten Dienstwagen stehen die Am 843 503-4 und der Lösch- und Rettungszug (LRZ) der BLS bereit um im Berner Oberland Reise- und Güterzügen in der Not zu Hilfe zu eilen. Während die Diesellok im Freien steht, befindet sich der LRZ in der Halle des Interventionszentrum der BLS, welches auch der Feuerwehr Frutigen als Magazin dient.
