The American flag sits high on a hill at the Putnam Hospital Center in Putnam County, Carmel, New York.
A lone feather which had got hooked on to a twig.
Title of course taken from the fabulous song by Mr Bob Dylan. I've always loved the lyrics to this song.

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Just heard that Mary Travers of "Peter, Paul, and Mary" has passed away. I always enjoy listening to their music. Although I would have to say "Puff(The Magic Dragon)" is my favorite... when really into it. The song can easily make me cry.
Years ago I had a friend who just loved "Peter,Paul & Mary"... one year he took me to see them in concert. We hung around after the show. The three of them came out to visit with people and sign autographs... it was pretty cool. What you see in this photo is their signatures(upside down) on, I believe, the envelope the tickets came in.
I dug this old book out... it's a keepsake thing from high school. The other tickets are from "The Captain & Tennille", "Alice Cooper", and "Fleetwood Mac".

Foto antiga de um tempo bom , em que o futuro era mais sonhado que esperado.
Fica muito difícil , para não dizer grotesco , desejar um feliz ano novo com tanto ódio destilado nos mísseis de gaza e nas ruas das grandes cidades brasileiras;
Foto antiga de uma época em que eu não sabia que a soma do tempo é totalmente proporcional a dor que sentimos pelas perdas, sejam elas pessoais ou humanas.
Quero voltar para meu sonho onde não so os anos são felizes
Mas as pessoas também

One of the many pretty Swedes (the country is full of pretty people) watching the scenery from the stern of the Waxholmsbolaget ferry from Stockholm to Ornö (or back, I don't recall). I was on the deck above (obviously).
Bob Dylan is one of my all time favourite artists, so when I was challenged to take a photo that best reflected a song, the choice was very easy.
Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman; May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, author and visual artist. Often regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture during a career spanning nearly 60 years. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" (1963) and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" (1964) became anthems for the civil rights and anti-war movements. His lyrics during this period incorporated a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defying pop music conventions and appealing to the burgeoning counterculture. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan

Yesterday was the
dark anniversary of our
5th year of waging an illegal
war in Iraq. Thousands of
true patriots around America
took to the streets to protest
this horrific war. In North
Hollywood, California,
home of me and mine,
protesters took to the
Northeast corner of
Laurel Canyon Boulevard
and Ventura
with a flag-draped
coffin and placards
urging us to remember
peace.
Across the street
were pro-war
picketeers, who,
although they had more
flags, seemed less tranquil
and much angrier. When I
approached for a photo
and commented on their
"Surrender Is No
Option" sign, suggesting
that the most meaningful
option would be to pull our
soldiers out of there before
anymore are killed, as have
been nearly 4000 now before
them.
They took great umbrage to
this idea, yelling at me
and trying, in vain, to
show me how wrong I was.
Which was okay. But when a
woman saw the Beatles
button I was wearing and
said with a strong tone of
nasty,
"John Lennon was an idiot,"
I think she crossed a certain
unfortunate line. I mean -
attacking John?! Now?!
But back across the street
in the lane of peace
there was an almost zen
calm as these true
American heroes held
gentle cups of
candlelights against the
encroaching dark
knowing that our long
national nightmare is
truly coming at long last
to an end.
I thought I would upload this one just for a bit of fun really, see if anyone sees it the same way as me. This withered daffodil looked like a face to me, with hair blowin' in the wind (apologies Bob Dylan).
Hope you like it!!
Cherry blossoms seemed to be everywhere in Washington this weekend. I wanted a change from the Tidal Basin shots so I found several stands of trees I had not seen in bloom before. These blossoms would not stay still for their close-up so the wind-tossed look will have to do. Nice on the black background.
How many years must we hope
Before we finally triumph?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some great players go
Before they play, truly play?
Yes, 'n' how many times can we hope and expect
Believing this year will be the one?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Dylan
At the northern tip of Minetta Street is one final notable site along our very Dylan-centric Greenwich Village MP3 audio tour. It was here within an existing Mexican restaurant known as Panchito’s that Bob Dylan is said to have written perhaps his most famous tune, “Blowin’ in the Wind” in April 1962. In 1958 this building was recognized as a theater known as the Fat Black Pussycat. It housed 148-seats and hosted talent that included everything from musicians to poets. Notable performers included Shel Silverstein, Bill Cosby, Tiny Tim, Richie Havens and Mama Cass.
The Fat Black Pussycat was shut down in 1962 and acquired by its existing owner in 1963. Until June of 2011 the building maintained the name of the former theater along one of its walls when the owner covered over it with red paint. When inquired as to his reasoning for painting over the sign that Dylan fans held so dear the owner commented that he recalled the former theater as an “awful place” and the signage “didn’t go with the building.”
Sadly, just one more lost treasure within the Village.
