My Epiphyllums are covered with buds and are just starting to bloom.
Epiphyllum are the gems of the cactus world. Commonly called orchid cactus, they produce absolutely stunning flowers. There are many types of Epiphyllum, but the majority are epiphytic and live in trees while a few species are terrestrial.
As long as we are persistence in our pursuit of our deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time.

It's that time of year when everything's in bloom, beautifying the neighbourhood. Happy Sunday my friends =)
Winter blooming succulent. It is a genus of about 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, mainly native to Madagascar and tropical Africa. Kalanchoe was one of the first plants to be sent into space, sent on a resupply to the Soviet Salyut 1 space station in 1971. Most are shrubs or perennial herbaceous plants, but a few are annual or biennial. The largest, Kalanchoe beharensis from Madagascar, can reach 6 m tall, but most species are less than 1 m tall. Kalanchoes are characterized by opening their flowers by growing new cells on the inner surface of the petals to force them outwards, and on the outside of the petals to close them. Kalanchoe flowers are divided into 4 sections with 8 stamens. The petals are fused into a tube, in a similar way to some related genera such as Cotyledon. 25026

I’m planning to creatively challenge myself this year by composing a haiku for images I post. I’m sure I’ll miss a few, but my intent is to slow down and even more thoroughly enjoy and experience this whole process, and hopefully realize some improvement.
This first effort certainly appears to have been written by a mechanical engineer (that’s me) but maybe I’ll get better with time!
I captured this camellia bloom in my Seattle front yard just last week despite some temps well below freezing this December…pretty tough plant.
