In the middle of the high density Afriaanderwijk is the Biological garden of the quarter. About this garden, by the organization behind the garden:
“Come by for a visit to our special garden: in the middle of the city and yet an oasis. You will find native and exotic plants, original inhabitants and newcomers who feel at home in our climate. Discover our special collection of so-called 'Rotterdam plants': plants that have been blown in and now have a safe place in our garden. Never seen a Mandragora or Black Blue Rapunzel? Come by and let us tell their story.
We are committed to preserving biodiversity. This is important because in the stony environment of the city there is less and less space for plants and insects. Together with other Rotterdam parties such as the Natural History Museum, Arboretum Trompenburg, Diergaarde Blijdorp, Stadskwekerij de Kas, Rotterdamse Munt, Stichting Natuurstad and Stichting Steensoep, we have united in the Public Platform for Biodiversity. We want to tell Rotterdammers - adults and children - more about biodiversity and the ecosystem in the city and why it is important that we, as people, live together with plants and animals.”

I had to carefully take my camera into the pool to get the right angle for this guy, who patiently posed for me.
I think he is a "Serpent Ringtail" but I stand to be corrected by any experts out there.

...or, actually, just an overlooked spider web with morning dew. My 5-year old had to come find me to show me this; and I am glad she did. I love that she sees the beauty around her.
This is a re-visit to the web shot from last month. Someone (John) suggested black and white so I processed this one in monochrome (a shot from another angle) using Silver Efex Pro. Other than the crop and the B&W processing this is exactly how it was shot... and found.
