Laguna Nimez Reserve is an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA). It has a variety of 80 species of birds, both Patagonian residents and migratory, including waterfowl, landbirds, and shorebirds.
The vegetation is typical of Patagonian steppe, composed of fescue grasslands with alternating varieties of Berberis sp. and Senecio sp.. In the zones that are often covered by the flooding waters of Argentino Lake (Lago Argentino) there are reed beds (Schoenoplectus californicus).

The hillsides below Salt River Summit, Wyoming support a mix of environments. The open spaces covered with arrowleaf balsamroot are across from hills of sagebrush and grass. There are also huge aspen groves and a lodgepole pine forest. There is a lot for photographers to enjoy during the brief spring wildflower season.
Samburu National Reserve has some unique species. Its zebra's marks do not close at the belly, or at the butt, unlike those at other reserves a hundred miles away in Kenya or other places. (Check the other 2 in the series)

In Germany, three quarters of flying insects have vanished in 25 years ( www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/oct/18/warning-of-ec... ).
One third of all invertebrate species are endangered or have already gone extinct in Germany.
The loss of biodiversity on land worldwide amounts to 20 % ( IPBES (2019): Global assessment report on biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Version 1). Zenodo. doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5657041, page 31 ).
This is not a great shot in terms of detail, but I post it because it shows the great biodiversity of the brazilian Pantanal. Only in a small pond like this one, we can see, at least, nine bird species, beyond the capybaras, and the water was an authentic caiman soup! See large, if you can :)

Some impressions of a walk through the forest near my home: Small Gold Grashopper (Euthystira brachyptera)
Closeup of a blooming poppy among other flowering wild plants on the side of a country road. The photo was taken on a spring day just after a heavy rain shower. Small water droplets are still visible.

This is Tephritis bardanae, i didn't find a good english trivial name, maybe she has none. In Germany also many of the Tephritinae didn't have a trivial name, this one has, from the plant it lives endemic with, the burdock (Arctium lappa). As any insect that is bound to one plant, she stands for the loss of biodiversity. Everywhere where the burdock disappeared for monocultures the insect disappeared too.
Update from 02.06.2023, might be Chaetostomella cylindrica, not Tephritis bardanae

The Female Blue-black Grassquit (Volatinia jacarina) captured at The Lost City of Falan in Tolima, Colombia, is an exquisite example of avian beauty in her natural habitat. This shot features her perched gracefully on a branch, her subtle brown plumage blending harmoniously with the lush green foliage. The soft, diffused light highlights the intricate feather details, adding depth and texture to the image. Achieving this shot was particularly challenging as she was actively engaging in "leap display," a behavior where she jumps up and down on a branch to establish territory and attract mates. This required a shutter speed of 1/60 and an ISO of 3200 to capture sufficient light without motion blur.
From a technical perspective, the low light conditions and her dynamic behavior posed significant challenges. The high ISO setting was crucial to ensure her delicate details were well-defined despite the dim lighting. The shallow depth of field isolates her from the background, emphasizing the Grassquit's intricate plumage. This image exemplifies the meticulous approach needed to capture wildlife in its most natural and undisturbed state, reflecting my commitment to conservation photography. The balance of light and shadow in this composition speaks to the serene and hidden beauty of the forest environment.

The National Botanical Garden of Georgia, located in Tbilisi, is a stunning oasis of tranquility surrounded by the city's impressive mountains. One of its main attractions is the picturesque waterfalls that cascade through lush flora, creating a serene atmosphere. These waterfalls provide a refreshing spot for visitors to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The garden boasts an impressive diversity of plant species, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and walkers seeking a peaceful retreat within the city. The trees are a crucial part of the garden's rich biodiversity. They include both native and exotic species, contributing to the garden's ecological value and aesthetic appeal. Among the native trees are majestic oaks and chestnuts, offering deep shade and a playful variation of colors throughout the seasons. Additionally, striking exotic species such as the Japanese maple and cedar add unique foliage and distinctive beauty to the landscape. Spanning 128 hectares, the garden features numerous trails that wind through exotic flora and serene water features. Besides the waterfalls, several viewpoints offer breathtaking views over Tbilisi and the surrounding mountains. Dating back to the 17th century, the garden plays a significant role in botanical research and conservation in Georgia and is a beloved spot for both tourists and locals to unwind in nature.
The largest waterfall in the National Botanical Garden of Tbilisi is a stunning natural feature, cascading gracefully through lush greenery and adding a dynamic element to the garden's serene landscape. This impressive waterfall, with its powerful flow and sparkling waters, creates a picturesque setting that attracts both nature enthusiasts and visitors looking for a tranquil retreat. Often, visitors pose for photos in front of the waterfall, captivated by its grandeur and the way its shimmering waters catch the light. The backdrop of the cascading falls provides a dramatic and visually striking contrast to the surrounding flora, making it a popular spot for capturing memorable moments. People often stand with outstretched arms or in thoughtful poses, enjoying the cool mist and the refreshing ambiance created by the waterfall's natural splendor. The scene is one of both awe and joy, as the waterfall’s beauty enhances the experience of being immersed in the garden’s tranquil environment.
As we rebound from our recent "tiny false winter", a brief glimpse of how October usually looks. Sagebrush, willow, goldenrod, and wild licorice are among the many plants visible in this small patch of wild prairie. A tripod allowed me to stop the wide angle lens down for maximum depth of field, and the overcast day softened the colours. There's an old saying among photographers that remains good advice: "If the sky is white, crop it tight." (Not a "rule"; merely a suggestion...) In this situation, I decided to crop it out entirely.
An old deer trail leads past this spot, up into the hills. The modern prairie is mostly fenced off with barbed wire, and very little of it remains in its natural state. Monoculture is where the money is at. We see endless fields of wheat, mustard, flax, oats, barley, chick peas, canola. Pesticides are applied generously. Biodiversity falls apart. In this place, beyond the limits of my framing, there are no fences. The wild prairie goes on and on for miles.
