PH-BFT, a Boeing 747-406M, on final for runway 23 at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario.
"City of Tokyo" was arriving as KLM695 (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V., operating as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines) from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
On March 27, 2020, PH-BFT was the last passenger configured KLM 747 to ever visit Toronto. Two days later it was the last KLM example to operate, when it flew as KLM686 from Mexico City to Amsterdam.
29 Maart 2020 gaat de geschiedenis in als de laatste commerciele passagiervlucht met een B747 van onze nationale trots de KLM land op Schiphol.
De PH-BFT hier te zien eind november 2019, komt hier langs tussen de Polderbaan en de terminal.
Op 29 maart 2020 kwam dit toestel binnen uit Mexico City, en na een zogenaamde pass-bye, werd er in de middag een eind gemaakt aan de inzet van de Jumbojet.
Zelf ook een paar keer mee mogen vliegen, en blijft kicken om er in te zitten.
Aanvankelijk zou de laatst overgebleven B747 in 2021 uit de dienst worden gehaald, maar de corona maatregelen heeft KLM helaas moeten besluiten om dit te vervroegen...

CN 5450 cruises around the Spirit Mountain curve with a train of BFT empties late on the day of June 5, 2020. These old coal cars (many ex-Clinchfield) are heading out of Duluth up to the Iron Range for Blast Furnace Trim loading at Utac. CN SD60s are unusual on Proctor Hill in 2020 as they usually keep this L567/568 power sets north of Proctor.
Back in 2013-2014, CN SD60s were common, a daily occurrence on Proctor Hill, when they held down the Minntac limestone assignments. This is the fastest I've seen a northbound head up the grade here in some time as this pair of SD60s had no problem with the 42 empties.
This is one train that can add some serious color to the brown season of early spring. B&LE 909 and two tunnel motor sisters lift empty BFT cars up Proctor Hill.

Only 20 days later, PH-BFT became the last KLM 747 to ever visit Toronto. On March 29, she landed at Amsterdam after operating KLM686 from Mexico City. It was the last 747 passenger service ever operated by the airline.
After performing cargo-only flights, she was retired on October 24, 2020. She has been in storage at Kansas City, Missouri since December 7, 2020.

IC 6253 and CN 2115 lift 65 empty BFT cars upgrade out of Two Harbors. Normally empty ore trains will use the loop line (Two Harbors Sub) but these short BFT trains can blast up the nearly 3% grade out of town on the Iron Range Sub.
De ‘City of Tokyo’ werd op 15 mei 1997 aan KLM afgeleverd en zal voor altijd een plekje in de historie van de maatschappij houden: het vliegtuig voltooide op 29 maart 2020 de allerlaatste 747-passagiersvlucht in KLM-dienst. Daarmee kwam een eind aan meer dan 49 jaar Boeing 747-vluchten bij KLM.
The 'City of Tokyo' was delivered to KLM on May 15, 1997 and will forever hold a place in the history of the company: the aircraft completed the very last 747-passenger flight in KLM service on March 29, 2020. This brought an end to more than 49 years of Boeing 747 flights at KLM.
