This was my first foray into documenting the world of The Dog Show, i had been wanting to attend a show as part of a couple of ongoing personel projects so when this local opportunity arose i jumped at it...plus my sister also got the chance to show her pride & joy, the Lakeland Terrier Beryl.
I love dogs & really wanted to capture them at their level but also their humans in a social documentary way to meet & understand this sometimes eccentric world of Rosettes, treats, waggy tails & proud 'parents'.
This was only a fun show to raise money for a local dog rescue charity Rens Rescue but as fun & enjoyable as it was there is always the underlying competitive side....from the humans you understand! ;)
I'd like to attend a more serious competition next time as i imagine the competitiveness & eccentricity may go up rapidly so watch this space!

I make work through research, employing mimicry and historical concepts married with contemporary ideas of personhood, autonomy, and culture. Using traditional metalsmithing techniques combined with altered fabrics and sewn objects, I create artworks investigating natural and social phenomena. I engage color, line, and form with vitreous enamels, the permanency of metal objects, combined with soft fabric. Human and animal forms abound in my work. Aprons, badges, toys, and other manmade objects are investigated as potential sites of intervention. As I translate historical artifacts into a contemporary vernacular, I discover new meanings of the objects and traditions in question.
We would have also accepted "only moped that runs."
So, after a nice ride up to canal fest for the second day in a row, this day to get a polish platter (the previous day I got clams), the moped quit running at the corner there, right by the stop sign. I tried to restart, it didn't happen, so I pushed it onto the sidewalk and looked around... it wasn't getting gas. So I poked some more, and then it started to rain, so I pushed it across the street under a carport before I got a wet ass. I got the bike to run there... unfortunately, I remained there for the better part of an hour until the deluge stopped.

Here's the trophy for Best Wreckage in the Battle theme at Bricks Cascade 2015. It was made by Mountain Division Films, with a couple of tweaks from me. The trophy features an aircraft carrier that is leaking oil into a great slick and a smaller ship that is fully engulfed in fire. (Things are bad headed toward worse for both ships....) It went to ArticCommando for the Battle of Ortona.
