This is a early morning shot which was taken just past mile marker 19 in the Yakima River Canyon. It is a stitch of 12 vertical images shot with a Rokinon 14mm on a Sony A5100. I took about an hour to climb the steep slope to this location which we shared with a few Big Horn Sheep.
I dug this out of my files, this was taken on April of 2010. Its quite a rush standing on the edge of a 600+ foot bluff. I actually lowered my tripod and sat in the lotus position to get these shots, much safer. Its a great location, I was hoping for a boat to come around the bend to offer a bit of perspective but it never happened.
All C&C is welcome
The Sheet Bend (or Becket Bend) is practical for joining together lines of different diameters. This is an example of a double Sheet Bend.

A welded rail train led by veteran SD40-2s round the bend out of Rockford headed westbound.
I debated doing the Soo Line Bridge, but when I went by this shot headed to intercept at E Loretto, I eyeballed the shot and thought it looked good.
So once getting the shot at Loretto, went west to get the shot.
Until shooting the trio a few days ago, I had yet to see a CP "Pac-Man/Multimark" SD40, now I've shot two.
A nice little scene with ivy-ranked trees in my local forest. The bending road caught my eye as the scene was flooded with golden light of the setting sun. By the time this photo was edited, the scene had already turned into green.

I photograph this bend a lot :-)
The light and autumn colours were beautiful that day.
Finally made it to this iconic location in Page, AZ. This is a 3 shots composite.

Horseshoe Bend is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado river located near the town of Page, Arizona.
As you walk down the trail, loose desert sand gives way to sandstone rocks that date back to the early Jurassic period. Over millions of years, wind and water have eroded these rocks to create absolutely weird, but awe inspiring shapes and patterns.
Upon reaching the overlook, one is awed by the magnificence of the landscape that cannot be expressed in words or through a photograph. The overlook is at the top of a steep orange colored cliff several hundreds of feet high. Down below, a blue-green Colorado river makes a horse-shoe shaped bend before rushing towards the Grand Canyon.
Thanks for your comments and faves :)
I don't have a lot of experience with Photoshop. This is my first real attempt at blending two photos into one. Took the sky from one photo and blended with the foreground with another. I'm still working with the clone stamping tool, etc to get a smoother transition. Any advice? Constructive criticism welcome. I will try to work on another one, different composition, etc. and see how it turns out.

The River Wye
Down there is the coldest place I know locally this time of year. Because of the alignment and steepness of the hills on either side of the river bend, even on the brightest winter days virtually no sun will reach down to ground level there.
Now for anyone who fancies a little game of spot the shot, on the Harry Potter trailer link below see if you are quick enough to glmpse this very spot as flashes briefly in and out of view. It's around the 0.52 mark. Deathly Hallows
while shooting the last image i posted of the engine, another train came flying around the bend, so...

A short ford from Mexico, horses graze and water along the United States bank of the Rio Grande. My vantage point was the Rio Grand Overlook along the Ernst Ridge Trail in Big Bend National Park in west Texas.
This is another shot from my time in Big Bend National Park in Texas. This is sunset at one of the many rock formations in the park along the scenic drive down to Santa Elena Canyon. I believe the light grey hills are actually ancient volcanic ash. The dark colored rocks scattered about the hills really made for some interesting contrast at this location.
Nikon Z 7 with NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8 lens and FTZ adapter @ 14mm, ISO 64, f/11, various shutter speeds. I focus stacked 4 images for depth of field, and 1 of those and another shot were for dynamic range in the sky, for a total of 5 exposures. Three shots at 1 second, one shot at .4 second, and another at 1/6th second.
