Here we are at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito. We couldn't have asked fora better evening. Krista had no idea at this point...she later told me, "If it wasn't tonight, it was going to be a great date."
Apart from being an Estate home which most people desire, I thought the architecture of this house was rather boring. It basically looked like a large subdivision home, no dimension to it at all!
The objective was to add some landscaping to bring some dimension and interest to the home.
Personal Issue: Mother nature is in control of timelines for this aspect of the project.
I thought I would try quilting in different colour threads and also while the outer is shadowing the appliqué the appliqué is done sort of liner. I may still add some embellishments on the bear. It is better viewed large.
My weekend slog is as mad as ever we also had food shopping to do not that the kids would have starved but our fussy cat was short on dog food.
Later I may get to flickr hop but for now I have to get back to the washing. Beginning

it seemed like an impossibility mere months ago, when everything was buried in two (plus) feet of snow, but spring is most certainly in the air.
this tree? i love this tree. i love the flush of soft pink in the budding blooms and the delicate, white flower petals. my sister and i gifted my mother this cherry tree for mother's day many years ago, and it is always the first to announce the arrival of spring.
we are using birchwood squares, sanded, gessoed, and then - let the fun begin. Painting, carving, gluing stuff on, metal leaf, etc.
The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.
