Yesterday morning was rather exciting because there were several Wood Ducks in the pond. I don't know what got them going, but they were all on the move and speeding around in different directions. It made for quite the challenge, especially because I'm just starting to get outside with the camera again.

A visit to The Midland Air Museum, which is just based outside Coventry and where there is a unique aeronautical collection of old military aircraft's. And it was rather cool to get inside and sit down in a Pilot's cockpit seat of an old military helicopter; I was amazed just how tight it was to get inside this cockpit and then amused with all the control panels in front of it me.
Just a bit of creative fun, with my fisheye lens here!

Because of the government shutdown in early October 2013, we could not visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. So unfortunately remained just the view from a distance (from the Great Sand Dunes Lodge) with a telephoto lens.

Because of the shady state of national and international aimlessness I am trapped in my home office most of the time since month. Recently, I had a free run for a week and at one afternoon I had the time for photographing too. Precisely this day was wet and dull all the time. Still I did enjoy the time very much and I brought a few photos home as well. This is one of the them. The famous castle Neuschwanstein below deep hanging rain clouds.
Auf Grund der fragwürdigen Lage nationaler und internationaler Planlosigkeit, bin ich seit Monaten die meisste Zeit in meinem Homeoffice gefangen. Kürzlich hatte ich mal wieder eine Woche Auslauf und an einem Nachmittag auch die Zeit zum Fotografieren. Genau dieser Tag war durchgehend nass und trüb. Trotzdem habe ich die Zeit sehr genossen und auch ein paar wenige Fotos mitgebracht, wie dieses hier vom berühmten Schloß Neuschwanstein unter tief hängenden Regenwolken.

I like panoramas because they give you are real "wide-angle" view of an area that you can't otherwise obtain. It can give you more of a feel for what the surroundings are really like. But they're much better of course on a large screen.
This is a typical shot of Nahant which is a peninsula with some amazing rocky terrain. The island way out in the distance on the left is called "Egg Rock". There used to be a lighthouse there 100 years ago, but it fell into the ocean. Historically, people reported observing "sea snakes" in this area around Nahant. I didn't see any :)
... because a little bit of yellow on your belly does not make you a full fledge Yellow-bellied Sapsucker... you remain a red-breasted Sapsucker. Thanks to Bill Chen and Peter Simpson for correcting my mix up. The Yellow-Bellied would be a great rarity for Vancouve Island.
Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !
A bit late for Fence Friday but never mind, there are no fences in my picture LOL. Happy Fence Friday and all the days ahead everyone !

For me it is – and I think it's the same for most of you – every time I stand, walk, run on a wide beach, feel the wind, smell the salt and hear the sound of the waves ...
And you probably also know this: "Clouds arise because the sun evaporates water from seas, lakes, rivers or streams and rises as water vapor. It's colder up there and the water vapor then turns into tiny water droplets that are so light that they can float." Smart sentences ... Sometimes you just want to float away with the elements :-)
