Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctic horribilis) patrolling the shores and uplands of the K'tzim-a-deen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary in the Khutzeymateen Inlet along the west coast north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada.
The inlet is about a 30 minute flight by float plane, north of Prince Rupert. The tour of 6 wildlife photographers (including myself) was 5 days long and run by Ocean Light II Adventures. We stayed at the entrance of the reserve in a 72 ft sail boat (Ocean Light II) and accessed the reserve daily in a 19 ft Zodiac and spent most of the day looking for grizzly bear activity.

Sticker Bear was giving himself a nice little butt scratch on the tree trunk in this shot.
I like this shot because it shows the youthfulness in his face. Such a cute little bear, but then all young animals are cute in my opinion.
…in place for Banff townsite after multiple bear sightings and encounters. This young guy was right in town.
Union Pacific SD40-2s No. 3745 and 3926 pull a 15-car Malad Local across the Bear River near Corinne, Utah on July 30, 1993. The gondolas of scrap will be set out at Nucor Steel, 31 miles up the branch near Plymouth.
The Bear River meanders through the countryside near Soda Springs, Idaho. This is the same location as the picnic table photo I posted a couple of weeks ago. It has been a busy time, so I need to get out soon for some newer photos.
I just loved this pose by Bear and just wish his paws would have been in focus but alas, when you only have your photo to capture these moments...

Polar bears are beautiful yet dangerous animals. They are to be respected when you come face to face with them in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. Sometimes a little too close for comfort, but we all watched out for each other.
I hope you'll enjoy my work! Thank you for your support!

The look through the camera is like a door to another world.
My beloved Bear Creek with a higher flow due to recent rains. It's a mixture of shadows and sunlight as the clouds passed overhead. Spring is in the air . . .
Seriously called Bear Creek because several pioneer dairies from the 1880's mention seeing bear wondering the creek coming down from Minnesota just to the north.

We saw this bear with two little cubs when we were heading to the mountains the other day. Mama bear sent the vubs up a tree, but like any kids, they got bored and climbed down to start wrestling with each other. Pretty cute, but I couldn't get a good shot of them. This is cropped pretty good, but I didn't want to bother her trying to get a closer shot.
Sloth bear (Melursus ursinus) born ~ 2 years at Woodland Park Zoo and now living in San Diego as part of the Species Survival Plan for their species. Sloth bears are native to the Indian subcontinent and feed on fruits, ants and termites. Perhaps the most famous sloth bear is Baloo from The Jungle Book.

Here's a handheld cropped shot of that wee white-phase black bear cub that I posted earlier with one of it's black brothers. It had rained all night and they were wet and appeared miserable. Mother was busy refueling nearby. Was most delightful watching them.
Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated!
Have a relaxing yet fun weekend!
After a failed attempt at catching a salmon, this wet bear had a look of disappointment! This photo was taken in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in Alaska!
Otis: " Ohh...we are too late with sending Christmas gifts!!!"
Odessa: " Yes, but what do you like more- to get the gift a bit later or never?"
Otis: " Hm.....maybe a very, very little bit late! Let`s pack quickly!!!"

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday! :-)
This is a female Grizzly Bear with her twin cubs. They would be about 8 months old here and were a male and female. The larger, blond cub was the male. Their mother was very adept at catching salmon which she would leave for her cubs, then go off to catch another. But each time she caught a new salmon the cubs would abandon the one they were eating so they could have the latest catch. The salmon is a Chum Salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), that has a look of horror on its face and a trickle of blood running down its side. This was taken on the Nekite River in British Columbia.
