Canadian National local train No. 513 passes a mountain lake at Henry House, Alberta, at 8:29 p.m. on July 11, 2014. The Hinton to Jasper (and return) local is powered by vintage pair of aging GMD’s—SD40-2W No. 5246 and SD40u No. 6011 —battle-worn, but still hauling plenty of tonnage on CN’s main line through scenic Jasper National Park.
A shed by the ocean. A little battered by the elements and time but still standing! I know it doesn't look pretty to most but I think it has beauty in it own 'life well lived' kind of way.
Hope you are all living well and having a great Wednesday!

Last week we had some nice low fog in the fields near my house. I shoot this early one morning as the sun was coming up. Hope you all had a great weekend. We have had company here for a couple weeks now and hopefully things will return to a more normal schedule soon!! If you look really hard in the distance you can see Mount Hood.
Cheers

I've battled demons that won't let me sleep. Called to the sea but she abandoned me. I won't let you get me down. I'll keep gettin' up when I hit the ground. Oh, never give up, no, never give up no, no,
No, I won't ever give up.
My fate is for me to decide demons be damned. You can't keep me down, I will get back up and come back stronger.

Battle Royal, also Battle Royale, normally refers to a fight involving many combatants and there are only two here. Ah well, at least they're both Royal Terns.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.

Within the old Lodgings building this wall spoke to me - the different colours, shapes, the chips and marks on each stone, and within a wall that's over 500 years old.
New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae)
It is that time of the year when the Honeyeaters and Wattlebirds are vying for nesting locations in our garden. This one was watching the battle for one particular spot from the line that brings the power into our house.

It was so lovely to watch these fly.
I don't know why my Exif details are not showing they should be in the settings
Once a feckless fairy decided to eat the meat of a dead mouse. This unknown delicacy proved addictive and soon fairies were carving up all manner of flesh to find the finest meats. But the best-tasting meat of all was the meat of the fairy. They became wicked things. And the Meat Fairy was born....
(Fairy Meat is apparently an actual wargame game by Kenzer & Company. I don't play it but the idea sounded interesting)

Roaring EMD prime movers fill the air as J783-29 hits the top of Botkins Hill and passes the signals at walking speed on a freezing January morning. The 0.63% climb that separates the Ohio River and Lake Erie watersheds sometimes poses a formidable challenge for heavy southbound trains, and this day is no exception as over 10,000 tons of local traffic heads for Cincinnati
I tried to find micro LEGO tanks like these but I had no luck. Surely, they have been made like this before. If you know where they have been made before let me know and I'll update this.
Interestingly, some of the epaulettes fit nicely and some are too small. Not sure if the mold was changed at some point but the old ones fit better.

Wow, looks like this is one of those days where it's a waste of time posting anything. There are definitely posts from my contacts that don't show up in my feed so I'm betting mine isn't showing up in others either

The tallest man-made building in the State of Vermont commemorates the Battle of Bennington, a pivotal victory for American forces on the New England front of the American Revolution. The Bennington Battle Monument is 306 feet 4 and 1/2 inches tall and was completed and dedicated in 1891. It is constructed from blue-grey magnesium limestone.
