Our friend's adorable pit bull who has a cleft palate. Bart is a sweetie who loves swimming in the lake and playing with his stepbrothers (dogs).
LA...just a cool place to be in the morning. Winter mornings the sky is clean and crisp. LA looks spectacular. Another early wake up and headed out with JERMAINE. We headed out to 1st Street to shoot the bridge and the LA skyline. The sun was coming up to the east away from the city so a quick look back a turn and set up. Here comes a train, perfect!
What a great morning, there will be more to come from this shoot.
Check out JERMAINE'S photostream well worth the look.
Black Gelding Shetland
Date of Birth: 1996
Came to Remus Sanctuary: 2013
Bart came to Remus Sanctuary when staff were able to rescue him from Travellers. He had the most awful life and had been beaten and pushed about.
Over the years he has spent at the sanctuary he has learnt to trust people again, and is now a friendly little chap. It is so pleasing to see him enjoying his life and freedom.

I have been having a photographic love affair with the BART stations, but mostly images shot with my iPhone and posted on Instagram. Are you using Instagram? If you are, find me there: pketron
This is Bart, the hopefully-soon-to-be-ours cat! He is just 9 weeks old so we will have to wait a few weeks before he can move in with us. He was born with a small defect on the thorax which makes him a bit slower and a not so good jumper. But we wanted to have an indoor cat so this makes him perfect for us.
Oh, and by the way, we will rename him when he moves here. I like The Simpsons, but we have all agreed that Bart is not a very good name for a cat :) We are not sure what to name him though, so if you got any good suggestion please let me know! :)
(The foot is there for scale purposes only! ^^)
UPDATE: We named him Moltas :)
this particular bit of graffiti appeared this past week in the tunnel entrance, as you head east towards the underground Oakland stations. there's a similar one that i'm pretty sure was done by the same artist at the other end of the tunnel, showing a corporate blob with a big bag of money. i've tried several times to capture that one, but it's in a shady spot. this one however, is in full afternoon sun! i really love them both -- does anyone know anything more about these?
Bart Starr, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of football. Led the Green Bay Packers to 5 NFL titles.
San Francisco Chronicle reporter Vivian Ho was handcuffed and led away by BART police during the Sept. 8 "no fare" protest organized by No Justice No BART. Photo by Brittney Barsotti.
The new cars, now coming on line, include a Hearing Loop among their features! This allows those with telecoils in their hearing aids to access improved hearing options on the noisy cars. I tried one the other evening. I think they still have wrinkles to work out. I didn't notice a big difference. The track noise is pretty brutal for many portions of the map. I hope I get another chance to try it soon.
If you wear hearing aids, be SURE to ask your provider/audiologist to ACTIVATE YOUR TELECOIL, so that when you encounter an opportunity like this--many public spaces--you can take advantage of greatly improved hearing.
