Chelsea was decidedly under whelmed by the catalogues that arrived in the mail box today.....not a Pet Stock one in sight! So, what's a girl to do but dream! (Explore 20/08/2015)

Bargain is a very friendly shop cat who lives in a small city near us. Taken by Edgar.

My life is likened to a bargain store

And I may have just what you're looking for

If you don't mind the fact that all the merchandise is used

With a little mendin' it could be as good as new

It seems that this week is all about selfies !! I missed a challenge the other day that was Bargain and in my quest for my Get Pushed image (if you haven't seen it be warned it's scary!!) I went on the hunt round the charity shops to see if I could find a suitable dress....I found 2...yey any excuse ey ! So as I didn't actually end up using it for that photograph I thought I could fulfil the missed challenge today. I am also just about to start striping all the walls in the dining room as well so thought I would make the most of the empty room and practise my flying at the same time.

ODC2 Challenge Bargain (Green Dress only £5 at Cancer Care Shop)

I'd better switch back into normal mode and go start the striping......decorating that is !! Will be back later to mooch around all of your fabulous streams !

Thanks for stopping to view, comment and fave all are very much appreciated :o)

Elderly gentleman in Spitalfield market, East End of London

I first heard about this legendary lens in 2006, just as I was really getting serious doing photography. I was 20 and it was way out of my price range, and why would anyone want an old manual focus lens? The allure of this special lens and the way it renders the light the passes through it is just something special. I’ve kept my eye on the pricing of this lens since then. I’ve read countless blogs about how it is so special...I just couldn’t ever convince myself to pull the trigger and buy one.

Then one day this July I was reading a blog post about this lens, one I’d read 100 times before and I thought I’d check the prices. On eBay they were all going for what I was expecting and I thought to myself I’d check KEH Camera a very reputable used gear seller. To my surprise, they had one in stock. It was about ¼ less than what they were going for on eBay and KEH rated this one as “bargain” quality.

If you’ve ever bought from KEH you’ll know that their ratings are VERY generous. I thought I’d take the chance and if it was in poorer condition I’d send it back with their generous return policy. The lens arrived, glass in perfect condition, and a single scrape on the metal lens barrel, other than that it was in perfect condition.

So I kept it, and have just fallen in love with this lens. I’m so glad it lived up to all the hype and I love the images I’ve taken with it so far. I look forward to the ones I haven’t taken yet. This is one of those lenses I’ll never sell or part with.

Floating Market, Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Farmers from the region bring their goods, fruits and vegetables mainly, to the markets and sell them to local dealers. They stay on the boat for about 4-5 days until everything is sold.

All big boats have a pole. Each wholesaler hangs the goods he sells on this bamboo pole. Smaller boats then sail up to the larger ones and negotiate purchases.

Northampton Market. Is she asking the stall holder if she can bend a little on the price...?

We're off to see Ron Sexsmith tonight, but before that we're off for a walk along the beach and cliffs to show realives. Hard Bargain is a Ron Sexsmith song, and it's not really a hard bargain, as I'd walk this coast every day, there's always something of interest.

My niece's wedding was in two days and I had no decent shoes to wear, so I went looking for some plain heels. I got sidetracked in a boot store, looking at wonderful red cowboy boots and these were in a markdown pile. I love them- fit right in with my weird shoe fetish and are comfy to boot. Never did get the cowboy boots...

The sense or should it be 'scent' of smell is often underrated, compared to the other four traditional ones of sight, sound, taste and touch. This got me thinking about which are my favourites? I have many but am going to highlight 'natural' smells - the damp earth scents of wet woodland; the ozone of a sea breeze; the smell of warm rain that has fallen on parched ground.

I wonder what are your favourite scents and smells?
