I was out this morning with my Olympus E-3 and the 14-54 f2.8 lens to shoot an antique cars show. I was standing around waiting for cars and there was a little patch of grass and flowers no more than 10' long. I spent about 15 min just looking and was able to catch these images. They are cropped but no other post no sharpening.
I guess my point is that there are lots of things to shoot and you don't need special lenses to do it. Please enjoy

Horse Balm (Collinsonia canadensis)-The long, fringed lower lip of the flower and the protruding stamens identify it. The flowers are lemon-scented. This wildflower produces flowers in late summer when there is little else in bloom in shady woodlands. While bumblebees have been reported to be the primary pollinators of the flowers, the long-exserted stamens and styles of the flowers, the white fringe of the lower lip of the corolla, and the fragrance of the flowers suggest that moths also visit the flowers for nectar.

Bee balm.
It has been so hot that it's hard to get to good shots. Some were taken in the mid afternoon and some in the evening. Just documenting the progress of the garden for the midseason point for the year.
