Baja 100 was a challenge that Erik Carlsson could not resist taking on. It was a rally through Baja, a desert peninsula on the North American west coast, through roadless country from Ensenada to La Paz in Mexico. Erik's white Saab V4 was equipped with wider tires, twin shock absorbers and a roof mounted exhaust among other things. His co-driver was Torsten Åman. In 1969 the came in third, the following year they took a fifth place.
