Took this one while waiting for the rest of our group to finish up at the Thirsty Owl Vineyard in the finger lakes. I just couldn't pass up the colors and the serendipitous ladybug.

In so many ways we live to follow the sun.

In so many ways we exalt and fail as one.

In so many ways we want so bad to be done.

In so many ways we show our pain in unison.

This is the back-up spot, parked in Del's room. Here, I've got my MacBook to a 20" Cinema Display. You can also see the 20" iMac in the background (the "family" computer).

Day 128:

This has nothing to do with tonight’s photo, but I am SOOOOOOOO Happy

right now. For those not in the LA / Orange County area, every year for the

past... oh... 15 years now KROQ (106.7fm) has had an annual Christmas

concert called: “Almost Acoustic Christmas” and these tickets are hard to

come by. Well about a month ago they made the announcement about

this years concert. First they announced the first nights line-up. It’s usually

the more “aggressive” night. A few interesting bands listed. Here they are

as follows (in the order they will be playing, 1st to last):

Paramore

Angels & Airwaves

Serj Tankian (singer of System Of A Down)

Rise Against

Avenged Sevenfold

Bad Religion

Linkin Park

The following day they announced the second nights line-up. Sheri and

I had been racking our brains trying to guess who would be a part of the

show and we both had our must for the show and as they played their

little opening we anxiously wanted. Then it happened. The second we

heard the vocals, we went nuts. It was Muse!!! Sheri and I saw them

back in April (2007) and had the concert experience of a lifetime. If you

even are a casual listener of Muse then you HAVE to see them live. I

cannot express that enough. You won’t be disappointed. Anyway...

Here’s that nights line-up (in the order they will be playing, 1st to last):

Spoon

Feist

Silversun Pickups

The Shins

Modest Mouse

Jimmy Eat World

Muse

So after the announcements they tell us that information is coming soon on when the tickets go on sale. The rest of the week went by and then the weekend and finally on

that Monday they said the date. It would be 3 more weeks until the tickets went on sale.

Which is only 2 days and 3 days prior to the concerts. Insane! You also had to be a member of their Street Team (which I’ve been for almost 2 years now and it’s helped

getting tickets before the general public on other concerts we’ve been to.) in order to

buy tickets. So we wait and as the days pass by and then to the point where it was

only hours and then minutes away. I stayed so positive about getting tickets. I tested

seeing if I could get Night One tickets and I tried as soon as it hit 5pm and I didn’t

make it. Less than 1 minute and they were sold out. Not good. Then 6pm came around

and was time to try for Night Two. The night we wanted. My hearts pounding and I’m so

focused and what ended up happening?

I got two tickets to Night Two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I can’t believe I got tickets. I’m so happy and can’t wait to go. Okay, I’m done. :D

Not a fan of little kids or weirs little dudes or a cross between the two. On flyers. The line-up on this flyer is insane.

I don't want to live in a world without melody.

Sometimes the rhythmic din of society is too much for me.

But purpose is prioritized these days the goal is win the prize.

There's a sleeping resonance we hold through which we're unified.

So let it out!

Don't get lost in the crowd.

No one can deter you from your own path.

There's no trip too remote from which you can't come back.

And I've got this hunch about you and me,

None of us are ready for a world without melody.

Pal encuntro de marzo. Se paso bacán salvo por lxs despreciables de siempre.

As you can read here I saw my all time favorite band, Bad Religion, in Malmo on the 23rd of July and in Copenhagen the night after.

So, on the 24th I strolled the streets of Copenhagen before I decided to go and check out the venue and found the band's tour bus. I sat down, waited and hoped for any of the band members to come out.

Finally Jay Bentley, the bass player, came out and I gathered up my courage, walked up to him and said hi. We talked for a bit about last night's show, touring and such when he saw my camera and asked if I was allowed to bring the camera inside the venue. I replied that I probably had to leave it in the wardrobe and Jay said "if you want to, I can give you a photo pass, and you won't have to leave your camera with someone else."

So I got to follow him through the back door, see the band and crew work and get my photo pass. After that we spoke a little more, about how he and Brian Baker (guitarist in the band) also do photography. Before I left I asked Mr Bentley if I could take his portrait and he said yes.

I still can't believe how I managed to get everything right when I was that nervous! After I had taken the shot, he asked me "did you get it?". Even though I knew that if I'd messed up I'd hate myself forever after that I just said "yeah". I didn't even have to check - I just knew I got it.

I really like his honest look; I didn't have to ask him not to smile, and while he doesn't, he still looks happy. I think that is how Jay really is, honest and sincere. At least, that's the impression I got.

Thank you Jay, for everything. And sorry for being such a fan-boy...

Yes. That's fucking sweat in our hair. You should have seen the rest of us.. As if we were standing out in the rain. And I swear, it wasn't all our sweat!

At this point in the 21st Century, I'm sure there are dozens of versions of this song to chose from.

Having grown up on a self-imposed diet of Punk, Ska, and Underground, I've always enjoyed Goldfinger's the best. It literally oozes color--sunshine yellow, deep amber, coral red, and lime green. There's a lot going on all at once. A rise and fall, a change in tone and mood, and all of a sudden, I feel as if I'm seeing a completely different song...yet it all blends together so wonderfully, I had quite a hard time attempting to portray it on such a small canvas.

I could probably cover an entire wall with this song!

Do take a moment to compare this to other works I've done and you'll see why I tend to think of this as a rather 'refreshing' piece of music. I've listened to it a million and one times, and I still feel like there's always something new about it. I'm probably going to do a larger version of this (and 'Whereabouts Unknown' by Rise Against) when I get back to my art classes in Oregon. In the meantime, though, take a listen to the song here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXjo-3uYZys

Slowly working on "customizing" my white MacBook.

Two versions of the same song, one by Bad Religion, the other a cover by the Vitamin Strings Quartet. Can you guess which is which? My adopted father guessed it right off the bat, as did my boyfriend (after listening to both songs. He said the first thirty seconds of Bad Religion's original version really gives it away).

As usual, of you're interested in purchasing or commissioning a synesthesia painting like this, I'm always available at lionheart09@comcast.net

The original work is done on a long piece of playwood I found under the school groundskeeper's trailer. Version one sits on top of number two.

Someone decided this was a good idea. I got hit in the face with a Gatorade, and I was lucky. Someone else got hit with one full of piss. The people wanted Bad Religion, and they wanted Bad Religion pronto.
