The "Women Backpacking Together" Meetup met at the Caribou Lake Trailhead in the Caribou Wilderness in the middle of the night... around midnight. Lorrie and I were there around 7:30pm so after we put up our tent and built a fire, we warded off the bears by making a lot of noise. Four plus hours! We were up around 9am and out on the trail around 11am. Got to our camp at North Divide Lake around 3:30pm and set in for a cold night. Snow all around but we found a nice meadow to camp in.

We picked up some new recruits and took a backpacking trip to Hidden Pond.

Overnight backpack Fred Haught Trail in Coconino National Forest, Arizona.

Just another test. I am planning on throwing in a couple of hands in there to make it feel like it is actually being constructed by the good folks at BWAP.

he had some very cool stuff in here. magnifying glass and loupe, compasses with instruction book, animal tracking book, various maps, whistle, teeny-tiny thermometer, how to identify emerald ashborer, 4" switchblade. and patches from some of the places he has been.

I remember going to a butterfly sanctuary Framingham MA, with him and the Naturalists Club. Afterwards we took out our lunches at some picnic tables. When it came time to eat the apples, he pulled out that switchblade and cut them into neat pieces. He totally enjoyed the shocked look on my face.

Thie Swiss Army backpacks do fit a 17" laptop easily, but man the zippers... The fisrt pull came off shortly after I got it, and the second finally broke (and took teeth with it) last week. I needed a fix before a new bag could arrive. So straps.

ArtsiBitsi Monster Backpacks are for kids of all ages. Each one is soft, yet sturdy, with a funny face and teeny little feet. They're completely washable, although hand washing is recommended. The bag closes with a simple flap and drawstring that is easy for little hands to open and close. When the backpack is on, it's closed, so there won't be any lost treasures.
