This railway lamp came out of my mother in law's garage and she allowed me to keep it. This lamp originally came from Aylesbury town station but I don't know what it was used for. On the door of it is; BR(M), which is British Rail (Midland).
There's a brass plate above that which reads;
Lamp Manufacturing & Railway Supplies Ltd. London.
Sole owners & Manufacturers
Welch Patent.
It had been hand painted gold but has red oxide paint underneath & around the back of it.
Not sure if this is a platform lamp as i don't know too much about it.
As a small project i'm going to strip all the paint off & try to find out what it's original colour should be & then repaint it.
