B&O GP30 6938 leads Chessie train RS-97 out of the Brooks Ave. Yard in Gates, NY on May 2, 1980. I had purchased a 2nd camera in the Spring of 1980 and used it to shoot B&W film. I think I shot more B&W images of this train than I did color, based on the few color slides that I have of it.

Convento B is a church, convent and college nestled in the hills above a small Italian township. The convent, church and cloisters date back to the 1600's.
RS97 is about to pass under the old DL&W main at DL&W Jct. in Pavilion, NY on the first day of Spring in 1981. The bridge was a favorite perch of mine to get RS97 and SR94 from. Of course the bridge is long gone now, but back in 1981 it was still an active line and the route used by D&H salt trains to get to Griegsville to access the GNWR. The head end is heavy with salt loads that were picked up at P&L Jct. in Caledonia. Power on RS97 is a pair of GP30's, a GP40-2, and a GP9.
B-17 Flying Fortress G-BEDF Sally B is the last remaining airworthy B-17 in Europe. She did not see any war service.
B&P 3101 leads the Southbound turn to Silver Springs at DL&W Jct in Pavilion, NY on December 19, 2019. It's hard to tell, but there used to be a bridge over the tracks about where the 4th unit is. The DL&W crossed this ex BR&P line on that bridge. There was also once an interchange here too, all has vanished long ago. I used to like to photograph the Southbound RS-97 Chessie train from the bridge.
May I introduce you to Olli B. Bommel... Een Heer van Stand (a gentleman of standing), as he calls himself.
I had been searching for him for a while.
While scrolling through the internet, I came across a site that sells different brands of bears, including Steiff bears... Suddenly, the image of Olli B. Bommel appeared on my screen. There was only one copy, and now it's mine! Lucky me!!!
Olli B. Bommel has a good friend named Tom Poes. I hope to find him somewhere someday.

This B-25 was one many of thousands that saw service during WWII and after the war this plane was decommissioned and saw decades of mundane service as a crop duster in Florida and near the end of it's useful life was brought by a collector and after years of dedicated work was restored to it's pristine condition.
