Sally B is the name of an airworthy 1945-built Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress. At 76 years old, she is the only airworthy B-17 left in Europe, as well as one of three B-17s in the United Kingdom. The aircraft is based at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, England,[1] Sally B flies at airshows in the UK and across Europe as well as serving as an airborne memorial to the United States Army Air Forces airmen who lost their lives in the European theatre during World War II.

A photo taken very early am in little light and blowing snow. Shutter speed 1/25 sec. with the help of VR and a tree to lean against. Noisy squirrels alerted me to this Barred Owl sitting quietly watching for its next meal.

Nellie Bly was a journalist who went undercover to expose conditions at the New York City Lunatic Asylum which was located on Roosevelt Island (then known as Blackwell Island).
She wrote a series of articles for the New York World newspaper and in the book "Ten Days In A Madhouse"
In November 1889 she ventured on a 25,000 mile journey around the world. She was inspired by Jules Verne's book “Around the World in Eighty Days.” She made the trip in 72 days.
