Axial Flow Fan has been specially designed for removal of dust and fumes in work places where, due to long ducts, system-resistance is high and other conventional exhaust fan will not serve the purpose. I started with designing the engine and gearbox unit, based on Fowler's drawings. I had hoped to produce the model at 3/4 full size, but this would have been too large for my limited equipment. This view shows the piston cross section on left and valve gear section on right.
The 1947-designed J34 generated 3,400 pound of thrust to power the P-3V Neptune (complemented with R3350 radials), F2H Banshee, F-7U Cutlass, T-2JA trainer, XF-2V Sea Dart.
