A chilly Saturday morning of Columbus Ohio. An AutoStitched image on my iPhone.

This was taken with my iPhone4 and stitched together with Autostitch. Please compare to the version I took minutes earlier with my Nikon D5000 and imported into and stitched on my iPad later that day with Autostitch.

St. Patrick's Day along the Chicago River. A 21-frame panoramic stitch.

Set Description: Don't get me wrong - I love my camera, but sometimes the iPhone can churn out some stunning images instantly.

This is a collection of some of the panoramas I've made with my iPhone in and around Chicago using the app "Autostitch" and later processed in Adobe Lightroom. They're not all perfect, but for a $1 piece of software, they're pretty darn good - Hope you enjoy!

Bachkovo Monastery was built in 1083 by Grigor Bakuriani. In the early l6th century the monastery was destroyed by Turkish conquerors to be restored in the late l6th century. Of great interest are the monastery refectory (1601), the big domed ceiling of the church of the Assumption (1604) with murals dating from 1643,the domed church of St Nicholas (1837) decorated in 1840 by the Revival Period painter Zahari Zograph. The village is actually south of Plovdiv in the mountains but, as in my last photograph of this monastery, I can't remember the name of the village.

The print I've made of this is on 8.5x19 inch paper where the height never reaches the maximum. It should print nicely on 8 by whatever. The original is a stitch of 4 photos, each with an infrared filter held in front of the lens.

The storage shelves I built in the shed this weekend (and last). This is more impressive if you saw the shelves that were in there before. Also, please note that the distortion from the pano process makes it look like some of the shelves are not level and square. I assure you, they are.

Playing with autostitch. I think this is a total of 5 pics. Should be viewed in the original size.

Morning Star over the SDC. There was a helicopter in there too. Taken on a cold January Morning. This is the AutoStitch version.

Taken with iPhone 3GS and stitched together using the app AutoStitch.

Shot as part of the planning for this image.

This is a stitch of 2 photos scanned from 35mm film. This is from the second floor of the residentiall quarters that surround the monastery.

From Wikipedia:

The monastery was founded by Prince Gregorios Pakourianos or Grigol Bakurianis-dze, prominent Georgian statesman, military commander in Byzantine service, in 1083. Since the 13th century, Georgians lost their domination over the monastery, but nevertheless, Georgian traditions were preserved until the beginning of 14th century.

During the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire, Bachkovo Monastery was patronized by Tsar Ivan Alexander, which is evidenced by an image of him on the archs of the ossuary's narthex. Since the 11th century, a school was housed in the monastery.

It is believed that the founder of Tarnovo Literary School and last patriarch of the mediaeval Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Evtimiy, was exiled by the Turks and died in the monastery in the 14th century.

Although the monastery survived the first waves of Turkish invasion in Bulgarian lands, it was later looted and destroyed, but restored near the end of the 15th century. The refectory, whose mural paintings by an anonymous author bear a significant artistic value, was reconstructed in 1601 and the Church of Virgin Mary, still preserved today, was finished in 1604.

Bachkovo Monastery is the final resting place of both Patriarch Evtimiy (1375–1393) and Patriarch Cyril (1953–1971).

When I'm working, I spend a lot of time in what is almost the smallest room of the house.

What I mean by that is not the suggestion that I somehow spend all my time on the loo but instead that I have converted the smallest bedroom in the house into an office and storage area.

This is where I write my articles, draw my comics and produce a wide variety of other fun things.

Since I was trying out this autostitch program, I thought I'd give it something really near-by to work on as a test. This is the result.

From a trip in 2003, it was a stormy day for awhile. This panorama is stitched from 3 photos using autostitch. The oriiginal components were on 35mm film.

So after mediocre mentioned a software called AutoStitch in my Wide Shanghai image, I searched for it and found it in a software called Calico by Kekus for Apple's Mac OS X system, which I use. This is a test image I made with the Calico Beta demo, and it looks awesome. Guess I'll be spending 39$ on that software sooner or later... The watermarks are in the picture, because it is a trial version.

Anyway, took these pictures of my balcony in my living community, 6 in total, and just loaded them into the software. The rest was automatic, the software does everything for you - incredible! It looks so perfect, and it even adjusts the brightness in each image so that it looks flawless together. Photoshop is way more difficult with merging, what an incredible software this is. Hope other Mac users like it, too!

The next time I am at some spectecular spot, I will remember this program and start taking pictures of the panorama...

Multiple images stitched together by the free version of Autostitch. I set the camera on a handy flat rock as the exposures were all about 1 to 2 seconds in the failing light. The very slight camera movement and differing angles of view leave a few ghostly images of trees and logs. Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
