We soon got back on track, here we're a couple blocks west of the 1918 Standard Station and heading west on the Lincoln Hwy. Looking at the google street view, this building appeared to be a garden tractor implement dealership back then and now its a mechanics shop.
The building itself is two distinctly different buildings that are joined together. The one on the left looks like a 60s - 70s Clark or Checker style of filling station. The building on the right, a brick garage with a couple bays. Possibly years ago a filling station was converted into a full service station here. Just a possibility.

So the Honda Element was overheating, and I was like shit, now what? So I called around, one Dealership said between $1,000 and $3,000 because they could not tell until they got in there, and then the other said with all the parts and labor it would be $1,823 and they would throw in a free oil change, and I was like that sounds like a hell of a deal! So I scratched my head and figured if those boobs working in the garage at Honda can do it in 6 hours, I bet I can do it myself. So over to O'Rileys I went, picked up the part for $74 and off I went, within the first twenty minutes of cussing at Hotel Element struggling to get the fan piece out, I knew why they charge $200 to take this shit apart, but I figured once again if those boobs at the Honda Stealership can do it, so can I, so 2.5 hours, it was out, disassembled and put back together and is up and running again! Once again, I saved $1,749 by doing it myself!

I have returned from the book launch of Hanklyn-Jankin and wonder dictionary of sorts by Nigel Hankin. Nigel was a master of the Delhi tours having taken thousands around the the lesser seen avenues. As he said, there were plenty to take you to the monuments, but who would lead around to north Delhi where old monuments were put to rest or the back streets of this marvelous old city. This and many other images will remind me of him. He died at 88+, but is remembered by many.

Jerry & I got a couple of estimates to repair some front end bumper damage on the 500 today. Yikes...cars aren't cheap!!!
I met my Stranger #13 when I was at my grandson's baseball game. Actually he walked over
to me after I pulled up and handed me his business card and said "Sounds like your power
steering, I think I can help you, here's my card come by and see me." A noise had just started
and Sidney being a mechanic recognized the problem!!! His son played on the opposing team
that we were playing that day. So I went by to see him and he took care of it for me and I truly
appreciate him taking the time to give me his card and fix my car. He just lost his dad a month
ago that he was in the auto repair business with and that has really been a hard thing on him
as they have worked side by side for years and were very close. A kind and caring person is
Sidney my Stranger #13. If you live in the Tomball, Cypress, Decker Prairie, or Pinehurst area
and need someone to work on your car I highly recommend Sidney!!! A big thanks to him for
fixing my car and for wanting to be one of my 100 Strangers on Flickr.
