This is "Mr. O'Lucky", the gigantic fiberglass figure/sign for the old Fitzgeralds casino. A couple of years ago he was destroyed by a fire started inside his body by homeless squatters living inside. All that's left is a charred spot in the dirt and pile of melted fiberglass.
The legendary location containing hundreds of old signs seen in many TV shows and movies. Eventually this lot will contain a museum building and these battered and weathered signs will be restored for display.

Originally built in the late 70's, there aren't too many years left in service for this 86' auto parts boxcar. Here, this Grand Trunk box finds itself along the old DT&I (which the Grand Trunk acquired not long after this car's manufacture) on the south side of Detroit, still working in the business it was built for.

PC 293306 seen on a unit autoparts train at an unknown location and date.
PC 293306 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1963 as NYC 67306, and classed as a Lot 971B. It was repainted and reclassed at Hollidaysburg in 09/1971.

This location was built and opened in 1994 and was renovated in 2006. In summer 2012 the roof collapsed and significantly damaged the salesfloor; as a result, the store relocated here in November 2012. The roof was fixed on the building in 2013 and the signs were taken down in April 2014.
NS 181, led by a former UP SD90, has a high green signal near Clymers, IN on a beautiful 05/23/15 morning.
A rusty iron manhole cover embossed with the word "Detroit" is surrounded by pavement and sprinkled with yellow fallen autumn Locust tree leaves.
