- This 2-door Coupé has a three-speed manual gearbox, floor shifter, a Rochester B-Type 7004915 downdraft or a Carter 2101S 1-barrel carburettor, a Delco 6-Volts electric system, distributor and coil ignition system, a 9.125 inch single plate dry disc clutch, a 61 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.
- The GM A-body box frame chassis with all-steel body (by Fisher) has a 115 inch wheelbase, worm & roller steering, massive luggage compartment,floor carpeting, a wide chrome strip of molding from the rear fender bulge, to the rear bumper, a panorama windscreen now consisting of one piece of glass, single exhaust system, independent "knee-action" coil spring front suspension with trapezoidal wishbones, sway bar and hydraulic telescopic dampers, longitudinal leaf spring rear suspension with hydraulic telescopic dampers, semi-floating type live rear axle, hypoid differential and 11 inch hydraulic drum brakes all round.
- A Powerglide two-speed automatic gearbox with standard 115 bhp/3.600 rpm (hydraulic lifters iso solid lifters and full pressure lubrication), Guidematic headlight dimmer, "DeLuxe" premium trim level, Saginaw power steering, overdrive, servo brakes, push button radio, fender skirts, fingernail guards, bumper guards, wide whitewall tires, heater/defroster, full wheel covers, chrome wire wheels, a Continental kit, dual mirrors, Venti-pane wind deflectors, power seats positioner, power windows, lap belts, two-tone colouring and AC were optional.
- The Bel Air Series 2400C was available as this 2-door Sedan, as 2-door Hardtop Sport Coupe (99,028 units built), as 2-door Convertible Coupe (24,047 units built) and as 4-door Sedan (247,284 units built).
- This first generation Be Airs (1950-1954) were assembled in South Gate (California), in Tarrytown (New York), in Lakewood Heights (Georgia), in Flint (Michigan), in St. Louis (Missouri), in Oakland (California) and in Norwood (Ohio).
