skotjay: @mimiwings Thanks. I've been wanting to try this combo for a bit now. I know what you mean about this being a place from childhood. Although I wasn't brought up on a farm like this, I was brought up on the water.
mimiwings: I love being near the water. Wish I'd grown up on the water. I grew up in the city with my Grandma. But I would visit my Mom sometimes, and she lived out in the country in Gainesville, TX. That's what this shot reminds me of.

Meaning that the stories you have are much better than the actual experiences sometimes. Alligators are a great example. An alligator will eat your dog, you know. Google search "Hackberry, LA" That's the town I grew up in, and got my entire education from Kindergarten (age 5) through 12th grade (age 17). In one building...

skotjay: I didn't take this with my phone. I took it with an SLR using exposure bracketing (taking 3 shots at quick succession, each with a different exposure). Then compositing them together. I'm not sure if that technically counts as a filter or not, since the coloring isn't changed

skotjay: @uberduberville In the specific area that this pic was taken, not really. There will be a minute or two where stuff will bloom, then it will get so hot that it will die pretty quickly. This color combo does mute the colors even further, though. I really like it.
