More fire spinning. This time, the weather was nice enough that I could go out to the Enchanted Forest where many of the Austin fire spinners go. Tonight was a mix of fire and light.
A classic British-built, circa 1952-1954 Austin A40 Somerset 4-door saloon, [GS4]. Spotted in Yorkshire, U.K. A nice potential project car.

Trantina Farm Park. Originally located on the Welter farm South of 143rd Street in Homer Glen, IL. It was deconstructed in 2002 and later rebuilt on the Trantina location.
"The original three-bay, hand-hewn oak, c 1850 English style barn was considered an historic building worthy of preservation. The Welter Barn is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship and pride of the community's forbearers and is the well-received centerpiece of the Trantina Farm complex where community events and future generations can enjoy the history and function". "In July 2015 the Austin-Welter Barn was designated an historical Will County landmark".

Ok..so I posted this just to tell a story.
So The Strokes were to perform a free show for fans as part of SXSW festivies but little did they know that the band would have the park at "capacity" and well beyond.Now I've seen people jumping fences at ACL,SXSW and many other places.But at a free show?Really?And I guess people tearing down fences at more than one spot obviously convinced officials(and APD) to simply step aside.It was an interesting scene.Today's score:the kids:1,the authorities:0.Kinda made me smile.
The Austin skyline glows against a moody evening sky as crowds gather on the lawn to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Austin Reggae Fest.
It may sound startling but that's the official acceleration time for the Austin A35. This 1958 example seen recently in Whitby theoretically could reach 70.1 mph and in its day offered an almost unbelievable 40 mpg.
