Since Christmas, Jasper has been in love with his hedgehog toys - plush little guys with squeakers inside. We play with them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. But he lost a couple at the pet sitters last week so I ordered up 3 squirrels for Jasper. (inexplicably, hedgehogs were now double the price of squirrels). It was a VERY good night. He was so delighted. Just beside himself.

We paused for a portrait on our walk the other day. I thought he looked pretty handsome.

Departing Luke Air Force Base after returning the equipment used for the Australian F-35's maiden visit to Australia last week.

I know I'm biased, but I think Jasper is one darn handsome dog. And a sweetheart to boot.

Sometimes on the weekends we take Jasper to the local riparian preserve for a nice stroll. It's a wonderful place for him to get different sniffs, see wildlife, and collect complements.

Isolation in this vast land at Christmas time . No snow covered cottages here just heat and more heat , bushfires , hopefully not this year .

This is a native Grass tree in the Tamala Park Conservation area. These are an iconic shrub for australia. They grow incredibly slowly. I believe it is something like 1 cm /year (trunk growth). This tree was probably at least 200 years old. I have three of these in my garden. Wonderful trees.

Aussie was desperate for lunch I think. This is the first time he's ever jumped up on a kitchen chair. He is eleven months old in this image.

Jasper and I were playing with Monkey when my wife got up to do something. His head tilt made his question clear.

Aussie Shores is a gorgeous beach with excellent waves. There are lovely rentals on the beach and directly on the water. Aussie Shores is made up of two islands, and there are many scenic spots to hang out with friends or to enjoy a special date. There’s a massage table on the water, a small club with dance balls, and Austailian wildlife all over.

Features: Surf board rezzers (C-3 & Umi), rentals, lighthouse, beachside bar with pool table, hot tub, sailboats, tree house

Clever boy that he is, Jasper knows that sly woman could snag Whale in an instant so he keeps a keen eye on her.

I've made 2 'cards' this year is a redux from last year lol

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2014

Thank you so much for taking the time to be my contact/friend - I have been overwhelmed this past year with your support.

Cheers from me :-)xxx

We have some feral cats in the neighborhood and Jasper feels the need to chase them into "kitty jail" (aka: storm drains) when he sees them. This is unfortunate as we're always attached to the other end of the leash. Do you think it's weird that my right arm is longer than my left? ;-)

Jasper and I remain working at home during the pandemic. Most of the days spent with headphones on. On the bright side, the headphones act kind of like a hair band to keep my lengthening hair under control. The number of COVID cases is up sharply in Arizona, breaking new records this weekend. Most municipalities in the Phoenix area have mandated faces masks in public starting last weekend. So I'm not mingling with the masses. Sure I could shave, but I enjoy the furry-faced solidarity I feel working side-by-side with Jasper and his unshaven face. 😉

The desert can sprout some strange looking stuff. When I saw these agave (I think) plants I figured I needed a shot of Jasper among them if nothing else than to provide a bit of scale

Dash and Jayme accompanied Jasper and me to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Sunday. Dash and Jasper saw fit to critique this sculpture. From his expression, I'd say Dash is a bit aghast. Seems nice to me, but I'm no art critic.

Flickr pals Jayme and Dash came over for a second Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. After dinner we took a walk at a local park. Dash and Jasper agreed to pose. I'm not real impressed with my stacked composition and harsh light of this shot, but the boys looked good.

Jasper's been working on getting one of his Pandas to resemble a Picasso painting. I think he's pretty much nailed it ;-)

Yesterday I showed you a window theme in pink and blue. Today this Aussie Christmas themed shirt is in bright orange.

A blind shot from this weekend as Jasper strolled through the greenspace, lovingly looking up at my wife, Jean. But I bet there'll be no afternoon walk today. It's supposed to get up to 98F (~36.6C) this afternoon. That is unseasonably warm, BTW, even for Arizona.

Jasper perks up when he hears the neighbors playing in their back yard. COVID 19 (or at least the stay-at-home policy) seems to have had a positive effect on the neighbor family behind us. They've dreamed up some sort of trampoline volleyball game that they play several times per day.. It's the whole family including the mom, the dad and the kids. It involves a lot of hooting, hollering, bouncing, laughing, scoring and many volleyballs. They seem to be very close-knit. Jasper thinks we should be playing like that. But what he's forgetting is that we DO play several times per day.

Well, maybe "by the Light Lagoon" would be more appropriate. Jasper hates getting wet so he would never go in the lagoon.. But there are some nice sniffs by the ponds at the riparian preserve.
