We tried a new park Sunday called Desert Breeze. Bit of a bust, I must say. It didn't live up to its marketing. Jasper seemed to enjoy anyway. Sorry, bit of a side-lit shot.

Flickr pals Jayme and Dash came over for a second Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. After dinner we took a walk at a local park. Dash and Jasper agreed to pose. I'm not real impressed with my stacked composition and harsh light of this shot, but the boys looked good.

The good old cocky sitting in a tree, making a heck of a mess! Cheeky buggers, they sit in the tree bold as brass until you come out and point a camera at them. This guy was a bit slow, and took off only after I'd managed to get this shot.

Well, maybe "by the Light Lagoon" would be more appropriate. Jasper hates getting wet so he would never go in the lagoon.. But there are some nice sniffs by the ponds at the riparian preserve.

A blind shot from this weekend as Jasper strolled through the greenspace, lovingly looking up at my wife, Jean. But I bet there'll be no afternoon walk today. It's supposed to get up to 98F (~36.6C) this afternoon. That is unseasonably warm, BTW, even for Arizona.

We got home to Arizona last night and were reunited with Jasper. Ahh, complete again. We opened some presents this morning and I pieced together a quick video of Jasper enjoying his new toys. Please excuse the increasing mess as the video progresses. Humans opened some gifts as well so boxes and paper everywhere

This is my "nephew" Calvados, or Cal for short. And he's actually Jasper's blood nephew. He lives with my sister-in-law's family In Wisconsin. A great happy-go-lucky dog with typical Aussie energy. Blind shooting again

While not exactly an untried theme for me, the sun has been setting as we take our "evening" walk these days. Beautiful sun. Beautiful dog. Can't help whipping out the camera.

Paul Tully (RIP) flew an aircraft much like the model in this photo when he was with 452 Squadron, Darwin.

His first Spitfire was like this with just the letter K and no serial painted on. This was apparently standard on 452 Sqn at the time. He was shot down in this aircraft but survived to fly another K.

Taking your picture, Jasper

This is Calvados, or Cal for short. He is Jasper's blood nephew who lives in Wisconsin with my wife's sister and family. He's a big sweetie. He's got very interesting heterochromatic (multi-colored) eyes.

This was Jasper's birthday haul. Beatrice Bunny, squeaky Chuckit, a new OddBall and a pair of large hedgehogs. As you can see he was absolutely thrilled to stop playing to pose for a stinking picture 😜

Oh no! The sky is falling! Oh wait a second, that's just the OddBall. Not to worry, Jasper leaped up and got it.

This shot was from a little while ago. But even last night when the temperature was still 105ºF (~41ºC), Jasper wanted to go outside and catch some OddBalls. Thank goodness that didn't last long

Though it started out relatively cool on our visit to Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Sunday, Jasper took some pleasure in just remaining in the shadows and people watching with Jean as I flitted about photographing birds and lizards and whatnot.

Found these beautiful wildflowers in the bush yesterday. They certainly make a splash of gold among the bushland. This flower is part of the Pea family, I haven't yet identified exactly which one it is. The flowers are very small.
