Learn how to solder and build your very own audio amplifier! Students will solder components for a basic low power audio amplifier, which can be used to amplifier any audio signal. Keyboards, MP3 Players, Guitars (might be a little quiet). You can also plug in the output to a set of external speakers or headphones for more flexibility.

I needed a mixer+audio-interface for playing with friends and found a good deal on an Alesis multimix 8 FireWire off craigslist... so I sold my old Edirol M-10DX digital mixer.
Win32 drivers for this Aless-mixer/dell-laptop-firewire were very unstable so I ended up using it on the mac. The difference is night and day!
Update: I have sold my Alesis and replaced it with an Edirol M-16DX
Folded is a live audio visual stage performance co produced by SDNA (UK) and Ticonzero (Italy).
It is the first chapter of an artistic research which aims to investigate the interaction of various live media and the integration of different artistic languages: audio visual, sculpture, fashion, physical performance and theatrical process.
The performance is divided into 8 parts (the maximum number of times paper can be folded) and explores the physical and metaphysical properties and potentials of paper.
Paper is the starting point for all of the artists. The costume, designed by Cabinet of Curiosity using origami techniques, is made out of paper, all of the visuals are filmed events or animations derived from paper and Alessandro's music is composed using sounds of paper.
The performer, Nina Fog, plays a creature born from paper who constantly transforms herself, reinventing her corporeality.

A brand new project I've started working on this summer is my 'Audio Guide' series.
As I was walking around Stonehenge I noticed something that had been bothering me on my last few visits to big old attractions. It was quiet. Abnormally quiet. Especially when you consider the volume of people visiting there.
When I was little there were noisy groups following one guide, waving their arms around expressively in just about any given language. You could stand and listen for a while (feeling like a naughty hanger on) or you could browse the informational placques dotted in relevant places. Now, there are Audio Guides.
They are probably interesting, I must admit I've never taken one, but as a photographer I like to soak up the scene with sights, smells, sounds and all. Now I began to notice couples distanced from each other. Groups in uncanny silence. Spectators with blank, distant looks.
And I began hipshooting with the iPhone, trying to capture the same expression I was witnessing over and over again.
I guess this is a small study for what could become a much larger project for me and my 5d. Heck I could even use the Pentax 6x7 because no one would notice the sound of the shutter. They are too busy listening to the Audio Guide.
