Above all, I love watching birds, not just photographing them!
However, during my visit to Bonavista, I was able to observe magnificent birds but also a behavior that left me speechless.
I watched these birds for several minutes without being able to tell if they were courting or quarreling!
There is no observable difference (male \ female) in Atlantic Puffins.
I put the photo in large format so that you can observe the look of each individual...
It's rather fascinating and there are so many scenarios in our head! : ))
Atlantic puffin, Fratercula arctica, lunni, Norway.
One of the best bird encounters personally, puffins at close range on Hornøya island, Varangerfjord, Norway. There were also many other seabirds nesting there.
I was so pleased to see that the puffins were still at their nesting site as they would be leaving soon to go out to sea for the winter. We met people just a few days after we were there and they didn't see any puffins. Timing is everything! I had an absolutely amazing evening with them when they flew much closer. Actually, they flew in just as we were arriving so 5 more minutes and I could have set up properly. After they started wandering around, no one moved so they would not be disturbed. This is one of the wonderful close-up views that I got. Taken at Elliston, Newfoundland.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Taken from the place we stayed at a few weeks back called Misty Cliff.
Misty Cliffs is a little village that lies on the mountain and on the beach, divided only by Main Road, between Kommetjie and Scarborough, roughly an hour from Cape Town.
It acquired its name for its, rather obviously, misty cliffs - it overlooks the wild and tempestuous sea, and is renowned not only for incredible days and beautiful beaches, but also for windy and wet days, depending on the season. It was something of a magical little hamlet that is also a conservation village bordering on a nature reserve, a wonderful place to find peace and quiet and a spectacular setting at the best of times.

Captured in: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME.
Pictured here is a view of sunrise at Acadia's Thunder Hole, captured just as the sun's light settled upon the top of this coastal rock formation.
Thunder Hole is located on the southeast part of Mount Desert Island along the park's Loop Road. It is one of the more popular attractions at Acadia National Park.
The location features a natural rock inlet where Atlantic Ocean waves typically come ashore with a loud crash and are often accompanied by some high flying sea spray. The ocean was actually fairly quiet this particular morning, so it was a bit easier for the sun to steal the show.

He gathers every drop of every ocean as in a jar, securing the ocean depths as His watery treasure. - Psalms 33:7

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
This is the famous Bridge Across the Atlantic. It can be found at Clachan of Seil in Argyll on the West of Scotland. Please visit this area if you happen to be in Oban, you will find it breathtaking, especially if you continue along the road to Easedale. The bridge was constructed 224 years ago just after the Jacobite rebellion, soldiers took cover from fighting in the tiny pub at Clachan beside this bridge. Go for a visit and you will be delighted that you did.
