Have never toured this location but visited the previous "museum" at Underground Atlanta. Would not say I found it that interesting or worth the price of admittance. It is mainly a non-stop advertisement for COKE, so the tour should probably be free. As many people say, the most interesting part of the museum is the sampling room where you can try samples of soft drinks COKE makes that are sold in other countries. It's said the first COKE was sold in an Atlanta pharmacy in 1886 and first bottled in 1894. COKE has to rank among the most significant things associated with Atlanta.

The old ACL Bellwood Yard was still used by CSX for some local freight, not sure what has come of it these days. April 2005.

My son Eric photographing the 'thing' in the middle of the fountain, just inside the courtyard, after entering the building. And me? Trying out a new WIDE lens.

I had to take advantage of the crazy snowfall we got in Atlanta today (well, for the south). I think it's up to three inches right now and still snowing.

I suppose I'll let you view this one large

Kansas City Southern's executive train heads for Atlanta, Georgia while breaking the morning silence at Toomsuba, Mississippi on NS's AGS South District during a special tour in conjunction with Norfolk Southern. The nostalgic consist including the classic F units give the train the long gone appearance of KCS passenger trains of the 1950's. August 22, 2019.

East Atlanta Village in Atlanta, Georgia

The sky is photoshopped bled with a different cloud image.

This side of the former Concordia Hall has an alligator mural painted by Belgian artist ROA, whose urban murals usually feature animals local to the region, rendered in black and white.

This building (originally Concordia Hall, built by a Jewish cultural association) is part of a historic district in Atlanta called Hotel Row. It was probably at one time a hotel, but I don't know if the "Star Hotel" sign is an actual sign from the building's earlier days or an artistic flourish. I can't find any reference to a "Star Hotel" at this location.

The lyre above the door on the right was the symbol of the Concordia Association.

So like dorks, we all pose for an "album cover" shot. Unfortunately, the original was b-o-r-i-n-g so I didn't post it. I did a little post-production work on it to make it at least a little visually interesting, so here we are!

We always stop in Atlanta on our way up to the Carolina's to see family. I have always wanted to get this shot at Piedmont Park in Downtown Atlanta. My husband has been against my going over there as it has a high crime rate at night. On this particular weekend it was crowded with an event so we thought we would go early and see how it went. The park was very crowded...there were only two other photographers at the small lake (they did not stay long). I got a few shots and we headed back to the parking area. I will admit I was glad when we finally reached the car. This park is beautful during day but it does have a strange feeling at night.

Today is smoky here in Central Florida, likely due to a large brush fire burning in eastern Volusia County near I-4. Smoke is not a good thing for my allergies, so I stayed inside and decided to clean up my image catalog. Look what I found!! While staying at an Atlanta Marriott, I got to shoot some dusk shots of the city from high up. This is looking south into the city with I-85 and I-75 in the foreground. Wish I had more opportunities like this!

And nary a bird or flower in sight!! :-)

See where this picture was taken. [?]

I took this picture couple years ago in Atlanta aquarium. i love the picture but i feel there is some thing missing. Any suggestion what is the best way to process it?

Atlanta Botanical Garden, November 2024.

This mural of an alligator, located along a wall at 209 Mitchell Street SW, was created by Belgian dtreetartist Roa in 2011. ROA paints site specific large scale birds, rodents and animals--often in different states of decomposition--that are, or were once, local to the area.

Living Walls, The City Speaks is an annual street art conference founded in 2009 and first held in Atlanta 2010.

An impressionistic vision of the city, this is a montage of several photos I took in Atlanta, including a cool new theater and a sunset.

The crazy light thing was one of a series of experiments I did with long exposures of street lights shot from inside the car as we were moving, exaggerated by deliberate added movements of the handheld camera. This particular shot was 29 seconds. You can see the pulsations of the electric current.

Amid the hustle and bustle of running from one terminal to another a refreshing and dazzling ceiling of rain forest colors, shapes and sounds by cool your soul for a few minutes in the very busy Atlanta International Airport. With 6 terminals it can take some time to change planes. The sounds of birds, tree frogs, insects and the cool colors are like entering a cave of wonders. Superb public art and hats off to the designers of this hallway of quiet and calm.

I loved this building. We were staying at the Hyatt which was just as nice, but architecturally and aesthetically, this building rocked. While the lack of a ceiling made photography in this area a bit difficult, it was a great space. You'll probably see several more shots of this building as I go through all my pictures. I couldn't take enough to satisfy my appreciation of the architecture.
