I had LASIK done this afteroon. Not too bad, overall. Things are still a little blurry, but the doc said it should clear up as the blah, blah, blah. I kind of lost track of what she was saying because the Ativan had started to kick in (who'da thunk such a tiny little pill could make you so woozy). Anyway, Rachelle was busily taking notes so I should be fine. As one extra-special bonus, they threw in a pair of shades to put over the plastic things they taped to my face. This picture doesn't capture the true loserness of the situation, but I wanted to have something showing the immediate aftermath. No blood, no drool. I was a little bummed that Rachelle got to watch and I didn't even get a video. That shit would have made the blog! I'll post better pictures later tonight.
With my mouth falling asleep from the novocain, it was doubly hard for me to stay awake as I waited for my second wisdom tooth surgery to begin.
Backed into the Mailman on the way to ER. Sorry, will try to catch up with all once we're out of CCU and through this life issue....
Steroids, percocet, ibuprofen, ativan, valium, paxil, just missing the pink hearts and purple moons.
My son's movement is just as bad as ever. They have ME on Ativan for the sress.
The last drug we tried him on was a non- FDA approved drug from India called Tetrabenazine. We were to ween him on it, and by the second day he was screaming and aggitated and so unlike himself. We immediately took him off it. Now they want to up his Depakote...he already has Hepatitis. Seriously I'm thinking about writing Opra-- lol--it seems like no one can help my son. Is it all I can do to bathe and carry him into the other room. He literally beats the shit out of me when I try to hold him---he's three. if there IS a God- I need him so bad right now- but I'm beginning to think there is none and Karter will be moving like this forever. We will have to stunt his growth if this isn't resolved soon. I can't imagine what kind of damage he could do in a fifteen old body. Never have I ever wanted to take something from someone so badly. I would take it from him, and he could be happy.
Started the day feeling pretty good; then work shit made me all anxious and I had to take corrective measures (lunch + Ativan). Made it through most of the afternoon feeling competent and good, then work somehow ate at me through the early evening until I felt about to burst with tears by the time I was leaving.
No one should know how magazines are made. It's like law, or sausages -- all seat-of-the-pants, insane bullshit. I've come to feel that craziness is a prerequisite for higher-up editorial positions, just as procrastination and laziness is a prereq for writers, and being persnickety and argumentative is for copy editors. But there's crossover amongst us all (I am much more procrastinate-y and lazy when I've got my writing hat on, for instance), so I don't want to cast too many stones. It just gets to you by the end of an 11-hour day, is all.

So I've been having these headaches. Really bad ones. Bordering on migraines but not quite that bad. I'm able to function just not very well. It's been about a month since I've been getting them so I finally made an appt with Dr. Alappatt to talk about switching meds or something. I'm feeling like the Wellbutrin isn't working anymore and if anything it's making me aggressive. She agreed to switch my meds but said she wanted to order a CT scan. I don't want to do that yet. I think we should give the med change a chance. I'm paying her, why shouldn't she listen to me. Doctors order stuff like that too quickly and for no reason too much these days. That's why health care is so expensive... anyway. She did draw blood and wants to check my thyroid.
She switched me to Lexapro, which I can't get because there is no generic and my insurance won't cover a non-generic. I called them back and She's going to call in a new script and call me tomorrow to let me know when she does and what it is. I've requested no Prozac because I hated the way it made me feel.
She also gave me lorazepam (Ativan) for the panic attacks.
She gave me some antibiotics because I have some pretty severe drainage. I agreed to take them since I don't take anti-biotics very often so better safe than sorry. Especially since there's some pretty nasty stuff going around.
I'm hoping this will help the headaches. I did agree to get the scan if the headaches don't get any better.
The 8 prescriptions I got today. Non narcotic pain meds, inflammatory meds, seizure meds, calm-her-ass-down-meds-cause-she's-one-of-those-crazy-neuro-lymies-who freak-out-when-they-get-out -of-bed-meds... AKA Ativan:P

they aren't really purple. they're more of a green colour. i have to use them when i get my vaccinations to go to Bangladesh because i have a phobia of needles.

this is the saddest day in our lives. a relative had told us that our dearly beloved went to coma. it was the hospital's fault for not monitoring patients that just had a major heart surgery. they gave more blood thinners which causes a blood clot. our dearly beloved complained of severe headaches from 5am to 9pm. they did not do anything, thinking she was young and instead gave her an ativan, to put her to sleep. the following morning when her friend came to the hospital at around 9am, she would not wake up. doctors and nurses panicked but it was too late. the blood clot on her brain was the size of a tennis ball. if the hospital had caught it earlier all they have to do is to drain the blood out and she will be perfectly alright and be home in 2 days. i am truly sad...and our healing continues....
