La corsa sulla strada della Tremola, coperta con l'acciottolato, lungo il versante sud del Passo del Gottardo è davvero mozzafiato; questa congiunge Airolo al valico su serpentine rompicollo ed è considerata il manufatto viario storico più lungo della Svizzera.
The ride across the cobblestone paved Tremola on the southern side of the Gotthard Pass is breathtaking. The Tremola takes you in hairpin turns and serpentine curves from the peak of the pass to Airolo and is considered to be Switzerland's longest historical monument.
Atemberaubend ist die Fahrt über die kopfsteingepflasterte Tremola an der Südflanke des Gotthardpasses, die in halsbrecherischen Serpentinen von der Passhöhe nach Airolo führt und als das längste Baudenkmal der Schweiz gilt.

Ich liebe diesen Platz. Jeden Tag kann man hier einen anderen spektakulären Sonnenaufgang genießen. Hier konnte ich all die ideen und Sachen die ich schon immer mal machen wollte umsetzen. Ihr könnt euch schon auf weitere tolle Bilder aus Tossa de Mar freuen :) Euch verrate ich auch wo ich es aufgenommen habe ;D Ich wünsche euch ein schönes Wochenende. Morgen gehts in die Provence.

Die Elbphilharmonie von der Wasserseite aus, Liebevoll wird sie auch Elphie genannt. Ein war ein Riesen Bauprojekt in Hamburg, aber dafür ist die Akustik im den Sälen atemberaubend.

This big humpback whale suddenly surfaced and blew just a few meters next to our boat near Telegraf Cove on Vancouver Island. Almost too close to take a sharp photo with my camera's telephoto lens. When the sun is rising and reaches the peaks of the mountains only and snow and ice of the snow covered peaks is reflecting the light. Than, a scene is emerging I have never witnessed before. The peaks are starting to glow and then to burn. Really breathtaking but only for a short duration.
Wenn die Sonne aufgeht und nur die Spitzen der schneebedeckten Berge erreicht und Schnee und Eis auf den Gipfeln das Licht der Sonne reflektieren. Dann entsteht ein Anblick, den ich hier zum ersten mal erleben durfte. Die Gipfel beginnen erst zu glühen und dann zu brennen. Atemberaubend und leider nur von kurzer Dauer.
I've just come from a several-hour exploration tour of mt. Triebenberg near Dresden. Yesterday evening, driving by, saw a mountain some distance away that was covered in icy trees. As it turned out when I reached the place today, it was this mt. Triebenberg, with a height of 383 m the highest elevation in the city of Dresden.
What awaited me there was absolutely fascinating and breathtaking. Not only the great view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with mt. Lilienstein in the foreground were worth the strenuous climb (my car is parked down there somewhere in the valley). Every single tree, almost every single branch, had been transformed into a true work of art by the ice and wind.
I brought some photos from the trip. So you will soon have your own impression.
Ich komme gerade von einer mehrstündigen Erkundungstour des Triebenberges in der Nähe von Dresden. Gestern Abend, im Vorbeifahren habe in einiger Entfernung einen Berg gesehen, der voller vereister Bäume war. Wie sich herausstellte, als ich heute den Ort erreicht hatte, war es eben dieser Triebenberg, mit einer Höhe von 383 m die höchte Erhebung der Stadt Dresden.
Das, was mich dort erwartete war absolut faszinierend und atemberaubend. Nicht nur die großartige Aussicht auf das Elbsandsteingebirge mit dem Lilienstein im Vordergrund waren den anstrengenden Aufstieg wert (mein Auto parkt dort unten irgendwo im Tal). Jeder einzelne Baum, ja fast jeder einzelne Ast war von Eis und Wind zu einem wahren Kunstwerk umgestaltet worden.
Ich habe einige Fotos von dem Ausflug mitgebracht. Somit werdet Ihr Euch in Kürze selber einen Eindruck verrschafft haben.

Here he is standing at dawn, like an insect among giants of sandstone that are already standing here bevor humans even found any term to express time. His eyes are wandering across a landscape what is so breathtaking and so multi-faceted that he knows, he will not be able to conceive it completely in his entire life. Still he will try it, over and over again. Because its worth it.
Da steht er nun in der Morgendämmerung, gleich einem Insekt unter Giganten aus Sandstein welche schon hier waren, bevor der Mensch enen Begriff für Zeit gefunden hatte. Er lässt seinen Blick über eine Landschaft schweifen die so atemberaubend und so vielschichtig ist, dass er weiß, er wird sie in seinem ganzen Leben nicht voll erfassen können. Trotzdem wird er es versuchen, immer wieder. Weil es sich lohnt.

I am fascinated by the variety of colors and the shapes that water and wind have wrested from the rock over the years. My first ray of light illuminates the canyon. The dust dances in the beam of light and paints intricate patterns in the air. It's beautiful ... stunning !

Ich bin fasziniert von der Farbvielfalt und den Formen, die Wasser und Wind dem Gestein über die Jahre hinweg abgerungen haben. Mein erster Lichtstrahl erhellt die Schlucht. Der Staub tanzt im Lichtstrahl und malt verschlungene Muster in die Luft. Es ist wunderschön ... atemberaubend !
Aufgenommen wurde diese atemberaubende Libelle am Rande des Dechsendorfer Weihers. Getarnt durch das dahinterliegende Schilf und eine offene Blende, ergab sich ein wunderschönes Farbenspiel sodass sie sich perfekt davon abhebte. Für mich ergab sich daraus ein perfektes Foto.
Im Pfälzerwald gibt es viele Felsen, auch Kletterfelsen. Ich bin keine Kletterin, doch ihn habe ich erkraxelt und die Aussicht war atemberaubend! Und das Heidekraut blüht da sogar schon.
Zwei Jahre später 2023 ist diese Kiefer in einem sehr traurigen Zustand!!

It seems to become a tradition, that I'm getting soaked at least once, when I'm shooting poppy fields. Yesterday it was time for that again. What I saw afterwards, when the sun came out again, was absolutely breathtaking. Everything around me was covered with water drops, which were shining in the sun like diamonds. For me the epitome of pure beauty. To capture this is still something different and when I'm looking at the result I was only rudimentarily successful.
Es scheint sich zu einer Tradition zu entwickeln, dass ich beim Fotografieren von Mohnfeldern mindestens einmal komplett durchweicht werde. Gestern war das mal wieder soweit. Der Anblick danach, als die Sonne wieder schien, war allerdings absolut atemberaubend. Alles um mich herum war überzogen mit Wassertropfen, welche wie Diamanten in der Sonne gefunkelt haben. Für mich, der Inbegriff von absoluter Schönheit. Das festzuhalten ist nochmal etwas ganz anderes und wenn ich mir das Ergebnis so anschaue, scheint es mir nur in Ansätzen gelungen zu sein.

A lavenderfield in the light of the setting sun on one of the most photographed spots in the surroundings of Valensole. For me it was a premier and a great experience. The smell on such a field is, in the true sense of the word, breathtaking.
Ein Lavendelfeld im Schein der untergehenden Sonne, an einem der meist fotografierten Spots in der Gegend von Valensole. Für mich war es eine Premiere und ein tolles Erlebnis. Der Geruch in so einem Feld ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes atemberaubend.

Dies ist für mich mein absolutes Highlight bei meiner kurzen Serie von der Eiswelt am Wasserkraftwerk Niezelgund in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Das Eis hat die ganzen Mauern zu einem atemberaubend schönen Kunstwerk gemacht, was man so sehr selten zu sehen bekommt. I found a hidden paradies at the edge of a field. From the distance, from the footpath. I hardly could see anything from that. Only a few poppy flowers were standing out of that trench. This was enough to draw me there to take a closer look. The blaze of colour of the poppy-, rape- and cornflower blossoms I found here was breathtaking.
In many things and in many fellows as well there is much more hidden, than it seems in the beginning. You will be surprised, how much more it is sometimes. Curiosity is your key, to this hidden treasures.
Ich habe ein verstecktes Paradies am Rande eines Feldes gefunden. Von Weitem, vom Weg aus, war davon kaum etwas zu sehen. Lediglich ein paar Mohnblüten ragten aus diesem Graben hervor. Das reichte aus, um mich anzulocken und genauer nachzusehen. Die Farbenpracht der Mohn-, Raps- und Kornblumenblüten, die sich mir hier bot war atemberaubend.
In vielem und auch in vielen steckt deutlich mehr verborgen, als es der erste Anschein vermuten lässt. Ihr werden überrascht sein, wie viel mehr das manchmal ist. Neugier ist Dein Schlüssel für diese verborgenden Schätze.

The night is actually already over, but the day has not yet begun. It's that brief moment of indecisiveness where you're somewhere in between.
Actually, it should still be really dark down here in the Tannheim valley in Austria, but the snow cover on lake Vilsalpsee is reflecting the light of dawn and thus creates this incomparable mystical atmosphere.
I'm so glad I got here a little earlier than planned and so was able to witness this moment. It's pretty cold (minus 10 degrees) it's absolutely still, it's breathtaking.
Die Nacht ist eigentlich bereits vorbei, doch der Tag hat noch nicht begonnen. Es ist dieser kurze Moment des Unentschiedens, wo Du irgendwo dazwischen stehts.
Eigentlich müsste es hier unten im Tannheimer Tal in Österreich noch richtig dunkel sein doch die Schneedecke auf dem Vilsaplsee reflektiert das Licht der Morgendämmerung und schafft so diese unvergleichliche mystische Atmosphäre. Ich bin so froh, dass ich etwas früher hier angekommen bin als geplant, und diesen Moment miterleben darf. Es ist ziemlich kalt (minus 10 Grad) es ist absolut still, es ist atemberaubend.

Reiher faszinieren mich seit meiner Jugend. Wenn ich am Ufer der Lippe entlang gestreift bin ließen sie mich nie näher als einige hundert Meter an sich heran kommen. Ich liebe ihre Eleganz, aber auch ihr lautlose Bewegungen - und das atemberaubend schnelle Zustossen aus dem regungslosen Verharren heraus.

I try my first shot on the legendary "Macro Mondays"-Group by using my EF 70-200 f/4 IS USM at f/8 with a retroadapter. I used my iPhone to get some interessing light on the front of my Denon DBT-3313UD and thats it ;D

Never before have I seen so many stars in the sky as in the Dolomites. It was an amazing night.
Noch nie zuvor sah ich so viele Sterne am Himmel wie in den Dolomiten. Es war eine atemberaubend nacht.

During my photo walk today, the starlings were very active again. They were on the meadow again and again to pick up food. They flew up again and again and sat down again, then suddenly sat down on a tree and started all over again. The picture shows only a tiny part of the flock, all in all there were about 500 birds. The sound when so many birds take off at the same time is breathtaking. How do they all manage to fly in the same direction at the same time? Starlings are very beautiful and interesting birds.
Bei meinem heutigen Fotospaziergang waren die Stare wieder sehr aktiv. Sie waren immer wieder auf der Wiese um Nahrung aufzunehmen. Sind immer Wieder aufgeflogen und haben sich wieder gesetzt um dann sich plötzlich auf einen Baum zu setzen und wieder von vorn. Das Bild zeigt nur einen winzigen Teil des Schwarms, insgesamt waren es schätzungsweise um die 500. Das Geräusch wenn so viele Vögel gleichzeitug abheben ist atemberaubend. Wie schaffen sie es nur alle gleichzeitig un die selbe Richtung zu fliegen. Stare sind sehr schöne und interessante Vögel.

We're back in Marrakesh, Morocco, in one of the smelliest places I've ever been in my life, the Tanners' Quarter.
As the name suggests, leather is tanned and dyed here. Namely the leather of goats, cattle and camels. There are also areas where wool is dyed.
The place is one of the main tourist attractions of Marrakesh and when you walk through the city people always try to guide you there (even if you have a completely different destination).
Of course it's about getting the tourists here to buy a leather bag or a carpet (which also worked for us) but I still found the visit very worthwhile.
Except for the stench that reigns there, which is literally breathtaking. Every visitor receives a sprig of fresh mint upon entering the premises to compensate a little. Incidentally, the stench comes from the many animal skins, which are "soaked" in a wide variety of liquids in the containers shown here.
On the right side of the picture you can see some of the end products that have been laid out to dry.
Wir sind zurück in Marrakesh in Marokko und damit an einem der am unangenehmst riechenden Orte, den ich in meinem Leben jemals besucht habe, dem Gerberviertel.
Wie der Name schon vermuten lässt wird hier Leder gegerbt und gefärbt. Und zwar das Leder von Ziegen, Rindern und Kamelen. Daneben gibt es auch noch Bereiche, in denen Wolle gefärbt wird.
Der Ort ist eine der Haupttouristenattraktionen von Marrakesh und wenn man durch die Stadt geht wird immer wieder versucht einen dort hin zu lotsen (auch wenn man ein ganz anderes Ziel hat).
Natürlich geht es darum die Touristen hier zum Kauf einer Ledertasche oder eines Teppichs zu bewegen (was bei uns auch funbtioniert hat) doch ich fand des Besuch trotzdem sehr lohnenswert.
Abgesehen von dem Gestank, der dort herrscht und der im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes atemberaubend ist. Jeder Besucher erhält einen Zweig frischer Minze beim Betreten des Geländes, um das ein wenig zu kompensieren. Der Gestank geht übrigens von den vielen Tierhäuten aus, welche in den hier zu sehenden Behältern in unterschiedlichsten Flüssigkeiten "eingelegt" sind.
Auf der rechten Seite des Bildes sieht man einige der Endprodukte, welche hier zum Trocknen ausgebreitet wurden.
