Aston Martin is transitioning towards electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its long-term strategy, but it is taking a gradual approach, blending hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and fully electric models in the coming years.

Aston Martin’s Electrification Plans

1. Hybrid & Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) Models

The Valhalla (2024) will be Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar, featuring a twin-turbo V8 + electric motors.

Other models in the lineup are expected to feature hybrid assistance, particularly in the DBX SUV and future sports cars.

2. Fully Electric Aston Martins (EVs)

Aston Martin plans to launch its first fully electric vehicle in 2025.

By 2030, the company aims to have all new models either hybrid or fully electric.

3. Partnership with Mercedes-AMG & Geely

Mercedes-Benz, which owns a stake in Aston Martin, will supply EV technology (batteries, electric motors, and infotainment).

In 2023, Geely (Chinese automaker) increased its stake, potentially bringing further EV expertise to the brand.

4. Battery & Performance Focus

Aston Martin is developing high-performance EVs that maintain their luxury and GT character.

The brand has hinted that its EVs will be lightweight, dynamic, and maintain Aston Martin’s signature driving feel.

Conclusion

Aston Martin is taking a phased approach to electrification, starting with hybrids before launching its first EV in 2025. By 2030, the lineup will be fully electrified, but the brand remains committed to luxury, performance, and emotional driving experiences, even in its electric era.
