Originally inspired by the 'Wanted' movie poster. A moments reflection after the hideous deed has been done.
My model Sarah-Jane is shot against a neutral grey background and composited into the scene.
All backgrounds are themselves composites of various elements to create a 'hopefully' dramatic theatrical quality.

x1 Einstein640 boomed high just off centre right. x1 AlienBees AB800 camera left and x1 AlienBees AB1600 camera right to provide kicker light.
Thanks to DeviantArt for cool background elements.
This reminded me so much of John Howe's cover that I was on the look out for dragons.
Many more Kyoto photos are in my stream. This photo was almost my choice for the pool.
I overdosed on green last weekend. Everything was incredibly lush in Kyoto. As you can tell, the flooring was moss. A sign said that there were about ten kinds of "very important moss" at this site.
The photo was taken at Ginkaku-ji Temple aka the Silver Pavilion. It was never actually covered with silver but you can see the wooden structure (and the Zen Buddhist garden) here.
The Golden Pavilion however really was covered in gold leaf. Wow.

An assassin bug nymph with ant prey, and ant carcasses on its back!
Acanthaspis petax
Common Assassin Bugs (Pristhesancus plagipennis) have the long head with powerful proboscis. They use the powerful proboscis to puncture their prey. Their legs are long so that they have long attack distance. Adult bugs are brown in colour with transparent wings. Nymphs are dark brown to black with brightly orange abdomens.

If you thought Orc Week would be over after we released the pieces yesterday, you're wrong!
The Orc Assassin is now available, complete with 2 jambiyas and our brand new khafiya.
Very limited quantities were produced, so get him before he's gone!
I’m not delighted to have seen this insect when I brought inside for the winter my hibiscus plants. The adult (and nymph??) has a painful bite and could very well bring on anaphylactic shock in someone like me who is mortally allergic to bee stings and is very sensitive to all insect bites. After taking this photo, I folded up the leaf and let the insect out.
