Reality retouched.

Well, we don't have Autumn or the four seasons here in Singapore so this one was taken a while back while I was in Seoul, South Korea.

Was heading up the short, inclined road towards Seoul Tower when I spotted this sole (no pun intended!) maple leaf lying on the tarmac road. The color of the leaf does stand out pretty well against the black, dull and rough road.

Upside down picture of a strolling couple reflecting in a puddle.

As I stood in the road photographing an eagle at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado, I kept hearing a "buzzing" noise. I thought something was wrong with my camera's auto focus motor. I eventually realized the buzzing noise was the rattle of a prairie rattlesnake at my feet, only inches away, doing his best to say, "back off!"

It had apparently been sunning itself on the warm asphalt, and because I was so consumed with photographing the eagle, I never noticed its presence. I'm thankful for its patience.

Looking with One Lens and Then Through Another

Yet I have only one pair of eyes

I hold a camera in each hand

But it’s the beyond that has the wonder

I came to this place only while out on a walk

And found much more than I expected

I should continue going through life with that view

And find the heaven on earth each day I live

Another work of short poetry or prose that serves as a companion to the image captured one morning while walking the streets of Mount Shasta, California. The view is to the northeast and uses both sides of the open street as leading lines into the composition. Mount Shasta stands tall as the backdrop, seemingly rising into the heavens above. The camera in my left hand is a Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera with the LCD LiveView screen turned on with Mount Shasta. I captured this image with my iPhone.
