Had a fun playful shoot with Amy. Amy's like a sister to me, we've known each other since forever. By no means is Amy a professional model, but she is beautiful and amazing. She's always wanted to try and I promised her we would. I hope you guys enjoy.

I lighted Mr Malik with 1940's glamour lighting set up. In those days photoflood (continous tungsten light to you & me) are much more commonly used by photographers during the era. Think Hollywood glamour shot of Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth, et al... They dont use much light modifiers back then (such as softboxes, umbrellas, scrims, cutters and such) hence the harsh shadows everywhere.
Seems out of fashion these days, but I kinda like it.
To emulate the lighting style, I use a SB-800 with a home made snoot aimed at the face (+1 EV). 2x Nikon SB-800 Speedlight positioned from either side about 45 degrees behind the model (-1 EV), triggered with an SU-800 attached to the D2H.
The studio wall is actually white, it turns dark as they're no light hitting it (I used a home made snoot to control the beam tighly so there's no extraneous light spill).
